The Rough Guide led us here. A lovely tucked away courtyard. An interesting menu with regional choices. Service was good, the local wine recommendation excellent, really nothing to detract from a fine dinner. Hope to go back.

Decor / ambience 5* - totalny magicznej place, with trees highlighted by lights / lanterns everywhere. Super romantic.
Food 4* - good quality, tasty, but not extraordinary by any means.
Service 4* - attentive, they recommended really delicious wine, didn't wait much for the food, but there are some other places in Sicily where people and waitress are so incredibly nice and friendly, that this one seems simply good.
Other 1* - although it was open air and a garden, someone was smoking, in two tables away from us, which I find totally disgusting in a restaurant. Shouldn't be allowed by any means.

Good food and service. Decent prices and not pretentious like some other places in the area. Pasta was average. Meatballs wrapped in lemon leaves, minestrone soup, and eggplant appetizer were above average.

We have been visiting A Zammara for years now and, being a picky Sicilian for quite time living abroad, I consider this restaurant to rank by all means as among the very best in Eastern Sicily. The menu is simply astounding, commingling with masterly art the ancient Sicilian recipes with a pinch novelty. We are worlds away from dull, alas, Taormina's food outlet, here the cuisine matches the natural and artistic beauties of this this unique city. There is a new chef and the quality has, quite incredibly, accrued to the already high standards which we were accustomed to. The maître d'hotel is a true reminiscence of a long tradition of Monzus, from French "Monsieur", i.e. anciently butlers who were hired by ancient patrician Sicilian families and were in charge to meet the latter's high expectations. He knows everything about Sicilian cuisine and gently accompany his guests in the enticing discovery of the treasures of the Sicilian cuisine. Rely on him and you will never be disappointed, I do every time . All my guests (Italian and foreign) have been marveled by this address! The entire staff is superb and the setting, just a few meters away from the Corso, let you feel that you are in another epoch. The patio is charming as well as a terrace nearby; as for the inside, the pavement shows you ancient Roman Walls. In a nutshell, you are in paradise surrounded by smiling angels.

Great place. You can sit outside in a nice and quiet garden. And the food was very good too.

excellent, restaurant à l'écart de l'agitation de la Corso Umberto avec un jardin agréable et une très bonne cuisine : nous avons pris des sardines et gambas
