I am not a cake person at all- I never eat cake at parties, because they're often dry and covered in overly sweet frosting. Just not my thing. However, West Side Bakery makes the best cake! I've ordered 2 cakes in the past year, and both times they have not only been beautiful and exactly to my specifications (both times they even exceeded my specifications and expectations), but they've been absolutely delicious! Guests of both parties have raved of the cake, and I can't go anywhere else! In addition, their baked goods are outstanding (hello that creme brûlée), as well as lunch items. This place is such a gem. Amazing job!
West Side Bakery in Akron provided our wedding cake. It was absolutely perfect! We had chocolate cake and chocolate mouse layer and a spice cake and cream cheese layer. Could not have asked for better! Can't wait to have our anniversary topper - lemon cake with lemon curd! Delish!

We hired The West Side bakery for our wedding event Nov 20, 2021 at Gervasi Vineyard. We had a small cake with a cupcakes and french macarons for our favors. Barb is a pleasure to work with. Everything was delicious. i would definitely recommend and hire again for any future events.

I've been here several times and have always had wonderful experiences. They also have some of the best vegan options around. I ordered a birthday cake for an extremely picky boss this week and he was blown away by the carrot cake. Carrot cake is his absolute favorite, he's tried many, so this is big. The funfetti cake also received many compliments from another birthday event. They just need a gluten free option, my poor husband keeps missing out!
I cannot say enough good things about West Side Bakery!! As just a basis, their cakes are incomparable in taste to any other bakery in town. They are deliciously moist and their buttercream is so light and smooth. Barb made my wedding cake and I asked for her to copy the lace pattern on my dress in the design of the cake. She literally made the cake all that I dreamed of!! She made a design that matched my dress perfectly and looked so beautiful on the cake. It was so worth it to have a unique cake and she is just so talented. Cannot recommend enough!!

I'd give The West Side Bakery more than 5 stars if I could. We worked with Barb and her team for our Wedding cake and cupcakes, and the whole process was so easy! They provided us with 3 cakes at our tasting, and we were sold right away! They were SO delicious, and Barb was so friendly. She even worked with me to surprise my husband with a Grooms cake. HIGHLY recommend!
