Yum. Yum. And YUM!! Wondeful vegetarian menu. Working the local farmers, beer and wine. And so much made in-house how could you NOT enjoy an afternoon respite. They have a dog friendly patio and please make sure your dog is dog and people friendly for the patio is quaint. Love love love this gem of a restaurant

This morning I came in for a delicious tea and a deviled egg. The tasteful, beautiful environment in the cafe with an eclectic mix of serving dishes and little beautiful things reminded me of a little french place I loved in my childhood. It really started my week off in a beautiful way. Thank you.

Last night I dreamt I went to Hartford Square again. It seemed to me I stood by the iron gate leading to the patio, and for a while I could not enter, for the way was barred to me. There was a padlock and a chain upon the gate. I called in my dream to the gate-keeper, and had no answer, and peering closer through the rusted spokes of the gate.... My friend Michael Gonzales, owner of Cafe Bella Coffee, urged me (several times) to try Hartford Square. After my first visit, Michael wrote to me: "I am so delighted you were able to make it there Larry! Like I was telling you in my opinion that place has opened a new chapter in central new mexico dining." Michael is one of several food people I know who I trust completely. So, what is so special about Hartford Square that makes me dream of it? Sarah Hartford. This place is Sarah's dream. She serves only the freshest local stuff, organic wherever possible. This is farm-to-table at its best. Seasonings are phenomenal, and nothing is oversalted. There are salt shakers on the tables if you must destroy her delicate balance. I won't. Fresh flowers, daffodils and forsythia during my last two visits. The decor is simple: black, white, and stainless steel. The delightful staff wear black and white. Sarah does corned beef from scratch. The outside is slathered with orange marmalade making for a delightful rind. The Swedish rye (house made, of course) is sprinkled with orange zest before baking. Truly amazing combination. Everybody's mom makes meatloaf and serves meatloaf sandwiches the next day. Well, Sarah's meatloaf trumps your mom's. And it's better than what I make. Her homemade herb bread is spectacular, with a delicate taste and perfect texture. Don't forget to eat your spinach. Granola Bar -- For breakfast, snack, or lunch, these bars can't be beat. Not at all like the junk you get in the yuppie camping stores, these beauties are lovingly hand made. Dates, apricots, apple, cranberry, flax seed, millet, brown sugar, and more are gently blended and lightly baked. Michael Gonzales would be proud to serve these in his place. Get a bagfull. Take them home. Or just eat them in the car. Yeah, I like this place.

Finding this place felt like I’d struck gold. The attentiveness and care with each dish is amazing. The food is incredible! That green chili jam should be in every pantry in New Mexico so definitely try it while you’re there. And get some buttermilk cheddar biscuits to go! I always do.

A little upscale for me but the vegan tofu scramble was really good. The atmosphere is relaxed, plenty of seating and WiFi. The coffee is from Michael Thomas, a darker roast than I like, especially in the morning, but almond and soy milks are available. It's a nice place for breakfast but on the pricey side in my opinion.

I had a great experience coming here for breakfast. I had the burrito with bacon and a coffee. Great atmosphere, food, and staff. The coffee was especially good. I'm glad I came in again, and I look forward to many more visits. Old review (3 stars): I had a really good cup of coffee but the sandwich was mediocre. I had a BLT that had really thick, dense bread and very little bacon. I would not order the BLT again, but because the atmosphere is nice and the coffee is good I hope to try Hartford Square again. I hope the food on the whole is decent.

Delicious breakfast, high quality coffee, delectable sweets. Zucchini bread and pumpkin donuts, yum! We stayed downtown for an event and this was a short walk from our hotel. No wait, nice service, friendly chill staff. Highlight of our weekend!

Everything is delicious! So good! Can’t rave enough about the food. Mimosas are a little expensive but really good, worth it in my opinion. Vibe is pretty chill, super hipster specially if you’re not from Albuquerque. Everybody is so nice and helpful. Love this place, definitely would come back next time I’m in ABQ.

I love that the menu here uses seasonal and fresh ingredients. Interesting summer/fall dishes like stuffed squash blossoms and watermelon salad. Portions are not huge, which is a plus...healthy servings of healthy food! So glad that this place opened up downtown.

Ate here for the first time today and really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and staff. I had a summer salad, a stuffed mushroom and a cheesy biscuit. All very tasty and definitely had a homemade, fresh flavor. Don't expect cheap prices because this is not cheap food! But it is no less expensive than comparable restaurants (like the Grove).
