The best burgers/fries/shakes. FRED'S IS THE BOMB when it comes to great tasteing old fashioned burgers, Fred's meat is ground fresh daily, and he uses a special secret bun and the best condiments you can get, plus you can tell them how you want it cooked. The fries are a premium grade krinkle cut, sprinkled with Fred's special seasoning, and the shakes are made the same as the 60's using the best vanilla ice cream and real fruit flavors. The decor takes you back in time when things were good and simple. I have been there many times and tried everything on the menu. IT'S ALL GOOD.The prices are right and well worth the drive to Alpine. By the way, Fred is real and he works most of the weekdays and car club Saturdays. You won't be sorry!

Almost missed it because there isn't much of a sign. Like most "hole in the wall" type places, they don't need a sign because all the locals already know it's there.
This is basically your last chance to get a decent burger on this side of civilization, so I recommend you stop in and get some grub for the road here at Fred's
Best burger place I've ever been to. This place tastes a lot better than in n out or smashburgers. This is technically the proper way to eat a burger. Everything on the bottom and the patties on top. You'll notice the difference in taste between other burger joints just with placements.
Over a week ago we went to Fred's Old Fashioned Burger. I had a quarter pound Burger with bacon and my husband had the same but larger one. Came with delicious fries and a drink. It was great and very quick. Service is always friendly.
Great burgers, dogs, fries, shakes, and everything else. Great ambience and great folks. Upgrade to a shake. You'll thank me. 🙂
Enjoyed a freshly made kiddy burger combo with fresh lettuce, tomato and onion for under six bucks! (The adult combos were way too big for me!) The freshly made vanilla, chocolate or strawberry shakes were out of this world! The fifties and sixties memorabilia and tunes playing made the experience very memorable. It felt like I went back on time!
I got the cheapest basic cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato. It was $5.79. Tastes like a homemade burger!!! Not fancy but fresh ingredients, thick flavorful patty! My son saidthe corndog was the best he has ever had
Food was good. I would recommend easy on sauces. Go light on grilled onions and sauces on burgers. Burgers are good and don't need a lot of help
