I was driving from San Diego to Az one rainy night. A little bit outside of San Diego my low tire pressure alert started flashing on my dash. I started to panic and took the very next exit so I could check my tire. It was dark out and most things around me looked closed. I pulled into a little strip mall that had lights on so that I could examine my tire. It was a total false alarm. My tire was fine. After my panic subsided I saw the welcoming glow coming from Steph's Donut Hole. It was after 8pm I figured there was no way they were open. The light must just be from employees cleaning up. Nope! They were still open! (Open late til 9pm daily!) My heart and stomach skipped a beat when I saw what this shop had to offer. ALL of my very favorite donuts lined up waiting for me. They do not do the trendy toppings of crazy candy and cookies and total sugar overload. No. They don't need to do that. Their donuts stand on their own, plain and simple. I got buttermilk bars, old fashioned rings, crullers, maple long johns, chocolate cake donuts, AND THE BEST APPLE FRITTER I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I've tried fritters from all over the place in my search for the perfect apple fritter. My search is over. This is it. I live more than an hours drive from this shop and I've already been 3 times since I found it in December. These donuts are worth every bit of the drive. If you need some real donuts, get your butt to Alpine and visit Steph's.
As you can see in the photo, the family emptied half the box in the first 10 minutes! Steph's Donut Hole is an awesome place for fresh donuts to start your morning on a happy note. They don't take credit cards so bring real money, but their delicious delicacies are worth every penny! Highly recommended...
Owner on site and makes consistently fresh donuts. Reasonable prices. Apple fritter is excellent.
Fresh good tasting baked goods. A delicious cream filled doughnut costs $1.15. An spline staple that's been here for years
Really good donuts, prices are a bit high, but the donuts are really good
Their maple bar melts in my mouth, so tasty, soft but not so sweet. Their unique recipe for each of their donuts is Amazing. There is no way, we can't stop in our way to San Diego.
My family and I are always looking forward to have them. If one, stops earlier in the morning, you will see the small group of people from the community drinking coffee and chatting. Everyone have their own cup hanging from the cup coffee holder.
This is (by far) the best donut shop I have ever been to!
I travel around the country and love to try donuts at local shops in cities I visit. None have ever compared to Steph's.
The creme puffs are my favorite, and I have made the 25 minute drive from my house many times to have them.
If you are traveling, be sure to stop by and grab some super duper affordable snacks that you will not find anywhere else.
Be careful, as they can become very addictive. 😄

This is probably the only donut shop I will go too. Only because their donuts are always made fresh and the service is quick. They have a big selection of donuts and they also offer breakfast sandwiches or croissant. MAKE SURE YOU BRING ONLY CASH THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CARD.
