Our party of four adults were looking for something better than the same ol fast food on our visit to Alpine. We saw reviews of this little Chinese place and decided to try it. It's located on the main road out of town and it's almost too far out; it looks like an apartment building on the outside with two doors and no windows. Confusing but we saw a sign "come in this door" so we did. The restaurant is a small clean battered place with an old blue buffet table on one side, a small dessert and sushi area and a table with plates, utensils and rice cookers. You can eat the buffet or order from a small menu. We have our drink orders to a very nice young lady and decided to try the buffet.
From pot sticker dumplings, soup, egg rolls, wontons, chicken with broccoli, chicken Hong Kong, sesame chicken, beef with vegetables, chicken mushroom, sweet and sour chicken, green beans, bbq chicken balls and coconut shrimp to the fruit and desserts, everything was fresh, tasty and delicious. The chef, a young man we suspect owns the place, wisely cooks and fills the buffet pans with small batches, so everything is rotated often and kept fresh. It means you might wait a few minutes until they replace an entree but it's worth it. We didn't find anything that wasn't good. Highly recommended and a good value at $11.00 per person. Total for four adult buffets and four ice teas was $51.00 before tip although no tip is required.
A diamond in the desert. We found this place heading out of town and are glad we stopped. I highly recommend the Pu-Pu Platter as an appetizer. The shrimp and fried pot stickers also made our appetizer list, both were great. For our main courses, we had orange chicken, sesame chicken and cashew shrimp. All dishes had ample portions and tasted great. Going out of town past the Hampton Inn, look for it on the left. See outside picture so you don't miss this awesome little restaurant.
A good place with with flavorful food and great portions. We got the vegetable delight and sesame chicken.
Always fresh and hot when we do take out. Everything is perfectly and deliciously cooked. Great customer service

It was honestly pretty darn good. The coconut shrimp was awesome. The lomein was pretty good too. We came in kind of late and we where worried that we wouldn't get fresh food and instead we would get the left overs, but that very much was not the case. There was a very nice young man who asked if we wanted anything specific and happily had it made fresh. He did this with the coconut shrimp multiple times and with the lomien more than once as well. The service was great and the price wasn't half bad.
Oriental Express- It’s Basic Chinese Food, its really tasty & I do leave satisfied. If you don’t want buffet, your welcome to order off the menu. It’s pricy compared to the other Chinese restaurant in town. I do like the food here, I do like the simplicity of the food served on the buffet, it’s not overwhelming at all, and ice cream is served here. It’s not bad at all, & the service is great to! 😀
Do NOT judge a book by it’s cover!! Food was DELICIOUS and served HOT and FRESH! You will regret not eating here! Friendly staff as well and plenty of tables for dine in. Food was so good we ordered more plates to go to enjoy at a later time.
