Working with Maria at La Guli was such a distinct pleasure. She is a genuinely kind-hearted and caring business owner and knows her baked goods as they are beyond delicious. Wish we lived in the neighborhood so we could come more often.
We hired her to do our wedding cake, a traditional Italian layered cake, and cannoli. Where other places either did not do them at all or would charge a premium that was not within our budget, she provided affordability, quality and delicious taste.
Our guests loved the unique cake, devoured the cannolis and went back for second helpings. All that considered we still have some in our freezer months later.
Do yourself a favor and have La Guli make your next wedding cake.

I’ve been going to La Guli’s since I was a little girl and it still has the same feeling and smell when you enter the bakery which I love! I wanted to pass on the tradition and order my daughter’s 1st birthday cake and they went above and beyond. The cake looked classic, beautiful and tasted delicious. It was the talk of the party. If you’re looking for a real classic Italian bakery this is the place to go in Astoria.
Amazing pastries, gelato, cakes and desserts from Italy! Great variety. You can find original recipes and typical sweets from different regions. I have ordered my birthday's fruit tart from them. Wonderful presentation, full of fresh fruit. The cream custard is accordingly to the original recipe. about. All my guests asked about this bakery!
I’ve been to this store twice in the last week and both times have been fine. I saw there were quite a few negative reviews but can’t say my experience was bad in any way. This shop is super cute, well laid out and has a beautiful selection of classic cakes, desserts, pastries and biscuits. Both items I’ve tried have been delicious.

Great selection of pastries, fresh and delicious made cakes, ice cream and cookies, very attentive costumer service, old fashioned well kept bakery.
I think it’s great! Always been friendly to me and happy to help. I think people with bad reviews don’t realize it doesn’t strike me as the type of place that wants to make whimsical custom cakes. That just seems out of their lane and they don’t need the extra work. There are other places in the neighborhood for that.
But what they do they do super well. So many fresh pastries cookies and cakes available daily. Italian classics and more. Always had friendly service when I have been in.
Omg. One of the best Sfingi di San Guiseppe I have ever had. Compares to Villa Abate in Brooklyn. I had to buy 5 due to my name day. A great Sicilian bakery and the cookies are to die for.
3 generations of my family have gone to La Guli, mainly for the cannoli. They are the best, with creamy filling instead of the excessively sweet filling many places use.
I've been buying Italian pastries and gelato from La Guli for many, many years and everything is always authentic, fresh and delicious..but today I decided I wanted a apple turnover.. hands down the most buttery, flaky and tasty apple turnover I've ever had ! Highly recommend this wonderful neighborhood gem..so few of them left!
