Highly recommend you plan to eat or grab a beer here if you’re coming to Banner Elk! Stopped by Dunn’s Deli for a quick breakfast on our way out of town. It happened to be St. Paddy’s day and this is the perfect spot to come on this holiday! Had an amazing bagel sandwich with bacon pictured below and a loaded croissant sandwich which I devoured before I could get a picture! Both sandwiches were perfectly hot and delicious! Best breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever had! The croissant was so flaky and buttery and was pressed perfectly and the bagel was so fresh! I only wish we’d stopped here before we were leaving!! We will def come back and highly recommend Dunn’s Deli!

We were just strolling around Banner Elk and decided to give this place a try. Most the other food joints seemed more tailored to fancy skiing types. Very glad we picked this place because it felt authentic and the food was delicious. I got the special of the day, a pimento cheese party melt and loved it. Pretty dingy inside, but not awful. Staff was very friendly. Parking was mostly off-street.

I tried the chicken walnut salad and my son had the adult grilled cheese. Prices were great, quantity was good, food was delicious. If you’re expecting some pristine place with a 100% sanitation score then keep looking. I love places like this with character and soul. The staff was friendly, and service was quick. I’d ignore the lady that gave the one star rating, she obviously was expecting something different.
