Great food and service! I got the firecracker shrimp and the fish special and it was delicious. It is pricey but worth it, in my opinion. I'll be going back with my wife soon.

Absolutely LOVE this place! In my opinion, BEST chargrilled oysters in Baton Rouge and always consistent. The filet is outstanding and can't be compared to anywhere else I've been. The oyster meadow grouper entree is everything with fried oysters, grits, and strawberries. Pair it with some crabmeat and Brie soup as an app and you will have a prefect meal. Basically, it's all outstanding and though I'm not picky, I like to believe I know the difference between mediocre food in BR and great food that's worth writing a review about! The atmosphere is nice and inviting and more sophisticated now since the remodel. Great date night place or for special occasions with groups! I don't know how this place can disappoint. Well worth the price tag!
Made reservations using Open Table and had to change to earlier, all with no issue. Showed up a tad early and were seated right away.
Interesting but nice vibe and ambience. Somewhere in between casual and formal. Long bar down the center of the structure with tables in all sorts of areas and then a main back dining room. Smart furnishings.
Some were in jackets but still casual while others were in safari shorts and T-shirts. All over the place on attire but that seems to be the way Baton Rouge rolls.
As a couple we were seated at a nice four top and greeted pretty quickly by our server, Chloe.
The cocktail menu had some of the specialty listings and also a list of Bourbons and Scotches. The cocktails were not priced but the others were. This is one pet peeve I have with places like this.......no prices so you don't know if your Ginger Pear Snap is $8 or $15. This same thing occurs on the dessert menu as well.
The other phenomenon as happens at a lot of local spots is the subtle or not so subtle upsell. On pretty much everything. Our server was great but you could tell, well trained in extracting as much $ as possible for the meal. When telling us the specials of the evening did not price them and I guessed both prices pretty much right on but should not have to do that.
Menu is pretty varied but a bit all over the place, but not in a way that made sense. Under sandwiches and pizza......one sandwich, a hamburger. Three pizzas. Weird to me.
Less than stellar beer selections here with two Abita the lone locals. Decent wine selections with some very pricey by the glass selections at $20-$25 per glass. Yowsa.
We ordered half dozen raw which were very good, big oysters with all the fixings except hot sauce brought out. Crackers wee stale.
Wife had the Grouper on grits with arugula. Delivered on a huge bed of greens and almost looked like a salad. It was a good dish overall but all alone as sides and salads are all ala carte.
I was not terribly hungry although I did like the sound if the steak with half a soft shelled crab. Half? Strange. This one might get me next time. $39.
I had the warm duck salad which was largely some duck on a bag of spinach with a sprinkle of cheese and cranberries and a sweet dressing to complement it. I enjoyed the dish and would order again.
Wife enjoyed the grouper and I had a few bites. Liked that they did not bread the fish.
We did split a dessert, Louisiana Lust, which was a combo blonde brownie, pecan pie type dish with chocolate and perfect to share. Lots of dessert and after dinner drinks but once again, no prices, so instead of playing guess the prices again, I opted out here.
Overall we did enjoy the evening, the vibe, the meal and the service and will be returning. Hope they join my 4 star club soon. Stay tuned.
