I’ve always had a good experience here. My favorite is the Rosa Maria, but they actually have really good steak for an Italian place. Obviously, the pasta is good and the salads are mixed before they put it onto the plate. I hate it when I’m handed a huge salad on a tiny plate and am expected to mix it without making a mess!
I live Italian food (my grandma is Sicilian), but the dishes here are just ok. I haven't had a bad experience, but I find the sauces to be light and less rich than the Italian food I love and am used to. I don't know if it's open for lunch now, but I have tried to go a couple of times in the past for weekday lunch to find them closed.
Good service, good food - EXCEPT the minestrone. I met colleagues here last night for a meeting and ordered the brick oven baked cheese with marinara. It was good, although we could have used a couple more slices of ciabatta bread. I also ordered a creamy parmesan side salad, which was a little overdressed. My biggest mistake though was ordering the vegetable minestrone. The vegetables were overcooked, and the soup was so salty I could barely eat it. Vegetables can taste good without adding that much salt! I'm not sure if someone was heavy handed with the shaker that day or if that's the norm, but I don't think I'll order minestrone again to find out.
