Our family came to BCD Tofu House on Saturday evening and it was very busy. The wait time was about 45 minutes but it was worth it. The staff was great and are great at dealing with large groups. We ordered a variety of things including the spicy stir-fried squid, chef’s special spicy stir-fried octopus, grilled mackerel, hot-stone bibimbap, vegetable soon tofu, and a variety of side dishes. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Went with family for a weekend dinner, they use the buzzer waiting system and we have to wait for 30 minutes for a table. They had a small parking lot and we were lucky enough to get a spot. We ordered scallion pancake, and some tofu stew. The flavor of the food here is less intense than the one in the city I have to say. Their kimchi was really good, fried yellow choker was not freshly fried and was just like warm when served. Overall it’s the BCD Tofu House experience you usually get, again just less flavorful.
Really enjoyed the food here. The only complaint is the AC was barely on and made it harder to enjoy the hot food. And the food stayed hot the whole time so we were sweating and eating. But the taste was worth it so I will only rank based on the food and service. The waiters smiled and were very pleasant despite the super visible sweat on their faces. I had the hot stone bulgogi which was a nice sweet flavor. Would like to try the skillet version next time that another table had. Three of us could not finish our food because of the portions with all the side dishes. I tried tofu only once before and the experience was bad but highly recommend this one.
Make sure you make a reservation or come early. The place tends to fill up quickly, so you may need to wait. The foods themselves are delicious and are worth their price. Be warned that the spicy levels are higher than it may seem. I recommend starting out with the Mild or Medium. The service is also great. The servers are always roaming around, refilling the side dishes and the water/tea.
It’s authentic Korean food place! People are nice and friendly. The place is pretty busy but they have big space so they don’t accept reservation. I went there on Saturday and it was very crowded but I only waited for 10minutes. They have some seats near entrance so you can wait there. They mainly have tofu but also have more authentic Korean dishes. It was delicious too. I recommend 👍🏻
Food is still good overall, but the experience with all the dining in restrictions is tough to make ends meet. There were dividers everywhere to keep everyone safe while eating and the place was pretty empty until we left. I had the bibimpap, but there was absolutely no flavor and it required mixing alot of sauce to spice it up. Rice was crunchy and the hot stone kept it warm.
This place is always crowded, but the team of waiters/waitresses do check up on you and pour you an extra glass of water when needed, or you can ask for a refill on a particular side dish. You get decent side dishes that change every once in a while, the tofu is soft with just the right amount of spice so that you can taste it and not choke on it, and the stone pot rice goes nicely with the tofu.
We were a party of 5 and were quickly seated by the hostess on a Wednesday night. Our waitress quickly greeted us and took our orders. We ordered some Korean barbecued pork, spare ribs, pork belly etc. and some Tofu seafood soup. The waitress brought out a number of mini apps, salads, and condiments. Included they even brought us each an individual fried fish! The thought was great but it was a bit difficult for us amateurs to get past the bones and in to the fillet. The main dishes came out sizzling and the soup was literally boiling. Service was good but tapered off at the end. Our waitress didn't come by for the last 15 minutes so we had to ask the hostess for our check. Overall a pleasurable experience.
Love the fact that BCD has a chain in Queens that is easily accessible from Cross Island Pkwy. Unlike the LA location, this place is not 24-hours. However, the soft tofu soups and combo meat dishes are essentially the same as the rest of the chain stores, and can be summarized as delicious. This particular chain is quite spacious and a free parking lot, something that is a rare find in NYC. We highly recommend visiting this BCD location for soft tofu rather than smaller shops in Flushing due to convenience and ease for seating large parties. The large selection of vegetarian options also makes it more ideal in case there are picky eaters in your party. The kids play area is also present at this location.
We have been here a few times before COVID and this is first time after. Everything is same as I remembered. Justin, our wait staff, is efficient and courteous. The banchans were all tasty and Justin refilled it for us as soon as we are done. We both ordered the combo. I had the spicy pork with kimchi and tofu plus the mushroom soondubu. The stone pot rice came out first and it was perfect having the rice in my soondubu. The kimchi pork and tofu were beyond good. PACKED with flavor. Slight tangy, spicy (the delicious kind of spicy), savory, perfect with the rice.
