We love coming back to this restaurant year after year for their delicious food and exceptional service! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is made fresh and delicious and there are some unique dishes to pick form. There is gluten free pasta available for the pasta dishes. Really great quality food. Portion sizes were very reasonable for a dish, nothing too crazy. Definitely get a dessert! The chicken piccata was very well made, the risotto was a Greta vegetarian dish, and the pasta are all incredible.
The restuant gives out free bread that is as dense as a pretzel and tastes like it too. It comes with olive oil, you can request butter if you so desire it.
For starters I tried the meatballs and calamari. The meatballs were tender, flavorful & I believe they were pork. My calamari was tender, perfectly seasoned and lightly breaded. The meatballs and calamari came with the same rosé type sauce, it had a nice kick of sweetness, cream and tomato sauce, it was honestly delicious and I fell in love with it immediately.
I had the risotto ettore and holy moly it was a game changer! The rice was tender, the black truffle was the perfect amount and not overpowering and the cheese was pully and not too over powering. I felt like I was I heaven when I was eating it. I was honestly worried that the truffle would be too much but it wasn't so I was very happy about it.
The risotto al funghi e tartufo was meh, the rice was undercooked and it was very disappointing. Not a whole lot going on with the dish.
We also had the petto pollo al masala, it had a sweet flavor that was so tasty. The chicken was thin and juicy with mushrooms on top that were delicious. There was a side of cut potaoes that had some sort of seasoning that was really good and not salty but very savory.
I was pretty disappointed in the lasagna, it tasted fine but when I took the leftovers home and cut into it I legitimately found 12 layers of pasta, with a slim line of meat sauce x2 and some ricotta. The pasta was very soft which was nice, but knowing this I wouldn't get it again.
There is also live music once a month by Emmanuel Trifilio, I spoke to him and he's a great guy with soothing music. I definitely recommend stopping by to have a great meal with some wonderful music.
Overall I definitely recommend checking this spot out, everything including the food and atmosphere were amazing and the food was over the top.
The one downside is that the bathrooms are not handicap accessible and part of the restaurant was not either.
The food was amazing. Great flavors and portions. I highly recommend the branzino. They had live music tonight as well. Overall great experience and a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. I’m looking forward to visiting again!
Such amazing food!! Would highly recommend. There are quite a few "fusion" places that actually don't mesh very well but this place combined the best of Italian and Argentinean cuisine! They also have a great selection of wine and the service is incredibly friendly.
I must first admit I value a great atmosphere and service in n addition to the food for restaurants. This place has checked all the boxes. My date and I enjoyed this place which specializes in authentic Italian cuisine. Not was everything amazing the owner was very engaging. A great place and we will be back.
We had a lovely experience last night for a special 90th birthday! The volume in the main dining room and of the background music playing was low enough that we could all hear one another well (a challenge in many places). The service was superb — they even sent out 2 appetizers gratis, and we loved the zucchini fritti and the bruschetta pomodoro (especially tasty) they chose for us. My main dish was the
Penne All’Amatriciana and it was smoky and perfectly seasoned with red chili flake. Delicious. My sister’s Petto Di Pollo Picatta was great as well, tender and zingy with lemon. Others seemed to enjoy their entrees too. Thanks for a great experience!
HIGHLY recommend La Panetteria! Food was incredible. I had the mushroom risotto and dulce de leche pancakes. Malbec and espresso were also delicious. Service was impeccable. La Panetteria has a very familiar, cozy feel with beautiful decor serving elevated cuisine. It became one of my favorite restaurants in one night. I celebrated my birthday here and it was super special.
We went to Rome last week and tried many different restaurants. One restaurant per meal to be exact. Once we found this place, we had dinner here every single night. And the only reason why we missed lunch is because we were usually away on a tour for lunch time. The place was clean, the bathrooms were clean, the waiters were amazing. If you are ever in Rome, go to La Panetteria you wont be disappointed. I recommend the Gnocchi ai formaggio.
Have not gone back since the change of ownership until yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised by the improvements. The food was great except the beef milanese, it wasn't bad but just not to the same standard of other dishes we ordered. The veal chops, the risotto dishes and the fried zucchini were excellent. The services were enthusiastic and the home made after dinner lemoncello was better than what I had in Sorrento Italy. With the escalating prices and declining services in Bethesda restaurants, this is a great place to have in our neighborhood. Their prices are fair.
Fusion of Italian and Argentinian food. Great food, passionate owner, great service, attentive staff all at a reasonable prices.
