202 Next Door

**UPDATED 5/19/18** R Family Kitchen closed. Owners Alvaro and Alonso Roche will retrofit and convert the space to merge with their other next-door property 202 Donuts as expanded space with an expanded menu. 202 Next Door will focus on small plate dishes, Latin and Asian influence, along with a new craft cocktail bar. **UPDATED 1/31/18** Stopped by again to checkout the Happy Hour menu. Still an eclectic menu. Pork Spring Rolls, 1/2 dozen 2x-cooked crispy wings coated with a Honey Butter Sriracha sauce and a nicely spicy Piquillo Pepper & Chickpea Hummus with mini-Arepas to spread them on. All nicely done with good flavors. T having just enough room for dessert, I received a recommendation to try the Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding w/ Malted Chocolate Chip ice cream. The Sticky Toffee was moreso a loose bread pudding texture, but really tasted great. Friendly service at the bar again. Initial launch has an eclectic menu, you'll see American, South American, and Asian influences - - interesting to see Pho and Spring Rolls, Venezuelan cheese sticks, and a great Coulette steak. You'll also see a dedicated kid's menu as well (perhaps a different focus on family oriented, vs TapaBar). Menus to evolve, to be sure. Friendly staff, it is only Day 2 from opening. Drink menu has a selection of cocktail, beer, and wine (nice to see Spanish red blend offered, it went great well with the Steak and a healthy pour!). As it's still in launch phase, had a really nice meal. Hope to return soon and explore the rest of the menu especially as it evolves.0

Definitely worth a try. First time walk-in a week or so ago, not long after they opened. The salmon was delicious. Chef and staff are welcoming. We will be back with friends to check out more of the menu. Likely a 5-star upgrade when they expand the wine list! DONE! Depth and creativity in this kitchen is terrific. Go enjoy.
