We’ve been here twice, once to dine in and once to takeout. The first time we ordered the Spanakopita, Famous Gyro Pita Sandwich, Hercules Burger and Big Greek Fries. The second time we ordered the fries and burger again and also the Gyro Bowl. I’m not very knowledgeable of Greek food but they all tasted very good to me, especially the fries. And I do feel like their price is really reasonable for the portions of food they give. The staff are also very friendly and nice. I’d definitely recommend this place for a quick bite.
I had dinner here with a friend recently. The falafel gyro was tasty but there were a lot of flies in the restaurant.
These spanakopita tastes, like it was made in heaven, and brought to you by angels on a small cloud instead of a plate , it’s so gentle and yet so crispy, inner part is so soft it smelled it in your mouth, relaxes every muscle in your body, make you so happy, that holy tears come out your sparking eyes … im glad i live very faraway if this magnificent place , otherwise i would spend all my money just eating their spanakopita
The big Greek Cafe is really a pleasant surprise. Many young people work at the Cafe to provide fast, polite service. I was looking for an easy, early dinner when I stumbled on this business. I ordered a chicken souvlaki gyros and wonderfully crisp, hot French fries. Wow, it was perfect! My friend ordered a Greek salad with chicken. The salad is a perfect large portion and filled with many special ingredients and flavors. Go look for them in Bethesda! Bonapetite!
Great food and fair priced too! Wednesdays they have $5 gyros but we got the salmon big greek salad instead. Sooo delicious! We also got their signature fries that came with tzatziki and it was perfect. Go check them out!
This place is awesome!!! Good food, great staff and the price is affordable. If you are military, don’t forget your 20% discount!
I get to visit Bethesda once a year for medical stuff. Within walking distance to NIH/Walter Reed, I look forward to treating myself at the Big Greek Cafe every time.
Delicious, fresh food, and large portions! The entrees come with two generous side dishes as well.
The $6 gyro Wednesday is the best deal in Bethesda hands down.
The food (including desserts) and service are so amazing here they’ve become a staple for me week. I thought the pork chop was the best thing I’d had in forever. Then I had the pleasure of eating their Bog Greek Chicken salad...yum yum nom nom.
Next on my list, the lamb chops and lamb shank. I KNOW they won’t disappoint.
PS. Had the almond cake...no words. Ridiculously great.
PPS. Just had the lamb shank with orzo; fantastic! I’m kicking myself for not finding this place sooner.
PPPS. I’m crossing my fingers they have the pork chops next week. That was one of my first dishes here and it was AAMMMAAAZZZIINGGG!
