Staying downtown in Billings while passing through, we were in need of a solid breakfast before hitting the road towards home. I grabbed my phone and looked for breakfast places close to our hotel that weren't the diner inside the hotel (because I shy away from any diner that does tater-tots instead of hashbrowns with breakfast - NOT this place remember).
Anyway, the Sassy Biscuit was just around up a block and round the corner.
We headed off and on arrival, the place was HOPPING on a Thursday morning at 8:45AM - we were amazed - -and a little excited - this place had to be good!
We were tempted to order a beer for breakfast - but decided against - although the friendly staff did give us a couple of tasters and we'll definitely head to Angry Hank's next time in town.. :D
To breakfast...
We ordered the shrimp + grits breafkast, plus eggs, sage sausage and their home-fries as an a-la-carte option. We shared it all... and the pulling + tugging of plates began.
The biscuit with grits, shrimp and poor man's gravy were delicious - the grits were the best I've ever had, and the biscuit was divine.
On the a-la-carte plate, we would only have had a little more crisp on the potatoes to make them perfect - taste was great, seasoning was right on the money.
Who would have thought that in Billings, Montana - we'd find a delicious southern breakfast... we'll be back for SURE!!
By far the best restaurant in Billings! The staff makes you feel like family, food/drinks are inexpensive, atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the food is to die for! Give Sassy Biscuit a try... you will never regret it!
If your looking for great food and amazing coffee in Billing’s MT look no further. Greeted with a smile and a warm welcome to their shop. Coffees were ordered and menus looked over. Chicken N Waffle is king so don’t leave without trying! Cooked to perfection the taste was more satisfying each bite. We also tried the Kentucky (sandwich) and the Kitchen Sink. Would definitely recommend this place.
Was amazing food. In Billings for a work trip and was so good I ate twice in the 2 days I was there. I had the sojourner and was absolutely amazing, perfect blend of flavors and super fresh. Also had the southerner, awesome sausage gravy and biscuits, was perfect. A must stop in Billings for breakfast or lunch.
This place does not disappoint! One of the best meals and coffee I've had since we moved here. Not to mention, the staff is top notch. Friendly and welcoming and despite being short staffed, kept smiles on their faces. Service was still quick but I would have waited for this and not complained. I got the Cobbler which was waffle pressed biscuits with warm blueberries and lemon butter and a side of house-made safe sausage. Flavor of everything was incredible. Also got the Iced Dark Brown Sugar Latte. 🤤 This was a close to Heaven on Earth as you're gonna get.
I CAN'T find enough things to say about this place! The owner has a true EYE for how energy should flow in the space. The food is better than good, it's GREAT! The artwork, ambience, lighting, and clocks set & STOPPED to prolific moments in the owner's personal life speaks to artistic expression in the "KEY of LIFE". ANYONE LOOKING FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, DELICIOUS FOOD, and DECOR THAT WILL QUENCH YOUR WANDERLUST THIRST and CURIOSITIES. Should definitely STOP in and have a food experience of a lifetime. The price is reasonable.
I ordered The Kentucky ( Savory dish )
and The Sojourner ( Sweet dish )
Those two are MUST try!
Also, the only complain, there is no LACTOSE free milk alternative options.
Overall, the food is absolutely amazing

Manager seems unfriendly but that's okay she is busy.
Stopped by June 2022. They have menu items that can be made vegan (marked on the menu). I ordered the Kitchen Sink made vegan, it also comes with eggs so I asked for it to be scrambled without seasoning and my pups really enjoyed their treat. Hubby ordered The Carolina Cristo, he really liked the combination of flavors 10/10. Also pictured is the The Pa oatmeal. Food was great, staff was friendly and the place was busy. Street parking or there’s a paid open parking lot next to the restaurant. Would definitely eat here again.
The Sassy Biscuit never fails to amaze me with the flavor everything they serve has! They have unique dishes that leave your mouth watering, a beautiful environment to unwind and enjoy great food and beverages, and a bang for your buck! The Bennie was one of the most unique breakfast dishes I've ever had and it was phenomenal!!! Love the decor! This is such a cute and SASSY place to dine!!
