Got a bowl of gamjatang pork bone soup. Delicious broth plus plenty of pork, tofu, veggies, and potato. Also stir-fry spicy squid. Flavor and texture of the squid were excellent. Good service and reasonable prices in an unpretentious place.
Had the stir fried spicy pork, which was delicious! Tasted just like a restaurant in Korea. There were several banchan provided which were also tasty and fresh.
Service was attentive and the food was served promptly.
I'll be back to try the gamjatang!
We got the gamjatang and mul-naengmyun and no app since we weren’t super hungry. Total ~$21pp.
Both were decent enough, though I thought the gamjatang had too strong of a “porky” taste. Maybe needed to be boiled/strained for longer. My friend really enjoyed her naengmyun. I liked the mashed potato and bean sprout banchan. The pasta tasted too much like coleslaw and the kimchi was a tad too sour.
Doesn’t make sense why the gamjatang for one doesn’t include vegetables, but other than that no gripes. Dining area was comfortable and not crowded when we went for lunch
Did not order the signature hot pot. The typical Korean dishes (steak, chicken and seafood tofu) are appetising. What I need to commend is I accidentally gave two $100 notes… the staff returned one to me 😃😃
Amazing pork bone hot pot! The pork meat is soft and full of flavor and the set 2 is definitely more than enough for 2 people. The serving is quite large and filling. Perfect for the winter or just any time you are craving Korean hot pot. The squid skewers are also a popular item on their menu and I really liked it.
Really tasty, I love Hanmaru.
A little story: My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and we only see each other maybe once every two or three months. Whenever I come out of logan airport he drives me to Allston for Hanmaru, a warm, homely taste.
Loved the spicy broth and how tender the pig's feet in it was. Great food, but there were only two servers for the whole restaurant, so it was a bit slow. Nonetheless, they did a great job! Bulgogi was alright, not as much flavor as I'm used to.
come to here first time, ordered Jokbal bokum and camjatang for 3. The soup camjatang is okay and bokum is okay as well. The sweet potato is awesome. And service is good as well.
One of the few places where you can get a legit pork bone soup (Gamjatang). Got their pork bone soup set A, kimchi pancake, and cold noodles (mulnaengmyun) via UberEats. The portion of the soup was massive, and we ended up boiling it again in a large pot. Despite the delay, the pork meat was soft and it easily fell of the bones. Their summer special cold noodles was also great and I liked how they used thicker cuts of brisket.
Best Gamja-tang in Boston! Lot's of pork, todu, vegetables in the pod. The basic side dishes they provide before serving the food were also great. Highly recommend!
