The food was absolutely great. The different flavors, spices and earthiness. This is what my life has been missing. A taste of home that I've never known.
I am by no means an adventurous eater. I like what I like. I came about this place because my fiancé had stated that she wanted to try Ethiopian cuisine in the past. Boy am I glad she did! This was amazing!!! The bread, the food, the spices, the flavor!!!! We shall be returning!
Great food. My husband loved his beef tartare. The injera here is so good! The vegetable sampler was very good. I was excited to try the mushrooms. Some vegetables needed a bit of salt, but it was still very good. The honey wine was also good. I would definitely return
The food was so good! We had three people and got the combination. We tried all the stews, the lentils, butternut squash, and other stuff. The spices were ethereal and we didn’t find a thing we disliked even though we tried 9 of the dishes! Also, I think that all of the vegetarian options were also vegan. We got a table right away without a reservation on a Friday evening. Service was attentive and the atmosphere festive as we ate in a little porch-like enclosure off the main dining area. Would definitely recommend highly!
The food is very delicious, well seasoned, plenty of vegan options. The dish presentation is beautiful, I already started eating when I pictured it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This was my first time ever at an Ethiopian restaurant so the entire experience was foreign to me. The service was speedy and polite which I appreciated, but the explanation of how things worked at an Ethiopian dinner wasn’t as good.
I really enjoyed the meats (got lamb and chicken) but the sauce weren’t my favorite (just my personal taste tho). My only real complain is the bread the serve it on gets extremely soggy quickly making it difficult to eat.
Overall a cool spot but didn’t blow my mind
Delicious food, attentive staff and it was easy to just walk in and get a table. I've been to a different Ethiopian restaurant in the city but this one is much better. Everything we ate was delicious and the sour bread was not too sour, it was perfect!
My go-to spot for Ethiopian food in NYC! The best way to do is going with a friend or friends! I went alone but wished I could try more dishes but my stomach is not as big as my eyes and my wishes!
Full tables and very busy take out indicated promising food.
It was excellent! The injera was perfect, the vegetarian selections and variety of Ethiopian dishes delicious.
We have a new Brooklyn favorite. It is not a large restaurant yet.
I absolutely love this restaurant and Ethiopian food. I used to order from here multiple times. My review has nothing to do with the food (excellent) or the service (few times I have eaten at the restaurant it's been wonderful). It's to do with delivery.
Their prices are much higher on DoorDash and when you get a combo you only get two sides vs four. When you order directly (which I am more than happy to do), it's a much better option. However, their site almost never works when processing payments, which is extremely frustrating. I would love to continue ordering delivery from here frequently, but hope they update their site!
This was just the delicious flavorful and semi-healthy meal I needed. Got the vegetarian plate for two and your get to choose 8 veggies since it offers 4 per person. Favorites were the collard greens, split pea, mushroom, cabbage and potatoes, and the spicy bean. In addition we got the doro tibbs chicken stew, but that turned out to be too much food for two. Everything was SO GOOD. Be careful eating everything with all the injera, you’ll fill up quickly, and there are no utensils by default.
The food was delicious! Besides Indian food, Ethiopian had the largest variety of vegetarian/vegan food. The variety is fantastic! The injera bread is delicious and so we're all the 8 sides put plate had. Absolutely fantastic, would come again.
