This Bakery has the best cheese cake in New York. Also find sourdough spelt bread and rye bread for traditional Polish nourishing sustenance. The people are super friendly as well and its open till 8pm. This place is a must!
I got two things here, a butter bun and half bread-pudding-like triangle dessert (according to the staff.) The butter bun is big, soft and buttery enough. I made my fried fish burger with it.
The dessert I got has a slice of cake as the base, then layers of soggy puffs, cream and berry jam in it which is mushy and has no texture.
Overall 4 stars after considering the price!
All the breads and pastries are amazing here. Whole grains and Polish style cookies are my favorite.
The service is great. But most of all the Baked Goods are well prepared and available in a variety.
The Chocolate and Poppy Seed Babka is off the hook but not always available.
Short lines, outdoor. Maximum of two clients inside at a time. They have croissants, cheese cake, babka, loaves of bread, etc. The best is their raisins and walnut loaf (pictured) that goes for about $5.75. Delicious and freshly baked, reminds me of my mom’s raisin bread! Polish and English spoken.
Credit card payments accepted.
Layout/atmosphere
*Small shop; not everything listed on the general board above the counter is available everyday
Food/drink
*Cheese danish - Good; huge
*Paczki with jelly (glazed) - Good; more jam than jelly which worked better because it didn’t spill out after a bite
The best cheese cake I ever had.
A classic old Polish bakery, with great bread, strudels, and poppy seed rolls
Some of the greatest almond croissants in the city. It's definitely a place to go if you kove sweets!
The dude was really nice when my gf and I came by to buy baked goods. He even gave us some treats on the house because they were aesthetically flawed and he would have had to throw them away otherwise. Chocolate cake and apple crumple were both winners. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.
