Best enchiladas in town. Cheeseburger was awesome as well. Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

It was pretty close to the zoo which was very convenient for us. The menu was large and had plenty to choose from.
Something Fishy.... Normally the logical thing to do in a burger place is to order a burger. However every once in a while, one likes to change things up, especially if one is in a burger dominated place. Fortunately enough, despite the fact that burgers was their specialty, their fish and french fries dish was pretty good. The fish was tilapia and was deep fried just right. The sauce provided also right complimentary flavors. Ambiance: definitely had sports bar theme with the wood paneling as well as a big screen tv, so this is definitely a place to consider when looking for a place to have a meal and watch the game.
It was our first visit at Spanky's. We ordered the Mexican Philly Cheese Steak, and it didn't disappoint. Their onion rings are HOMEMADE!! I haven't seen homemade in a long time. They were wow and delish. Not to mention their tea!! That stuff is addictive. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to ordering. Can't wait to go back and try another item on their menu. Oh, then they have a gazebo to eat by the resaca. Next time, I'll be sure to sit out there.
Burgers and Onion Rings!! Amazing! Great taste, juicy and delish!! I would drive back to Brownsville with the family to enjoy this place with them. Maybe tomorrow! Great!
Love the freshness of the food. Burgers are always on point, and the staff is always great. I enjoy eating inside the restaurant as well. It's always clean, they have some type of sports on the multiple TVs and the atmosphere is nice overall.
Delicious food all around from the bacon burger to the black bean burger. Plenty of seating and great outdoor patio with great views
We had the fajita nachos with everything on it, it was shared by two people and there was still some left so it’s a good bang for your buck!

This restaurant is for sure 5 stars in my book. Will rate it more if I could! The atmosphere is amazing. The owner is so kind and super hilarious! The cashier was so kind and helpful pointed out which one she likes the most and which one she recommended! My husband got the toro loco and it was BOMB! super Delicious and fresh. My Burger was the triple meat and I will definitely be getting that again. I totally recommend subbing your fries for the onion rings. They are so crispy and HUGE! they will see us again! They have a little bit of everything! Mexican, seafood, burgers, Phillies! Super delicious. Get that milkshake!!! You won't regret it. All the food is made with love. You can taste it! Thank you for having us!
We were driving around Brownsville on a Friday night trying to find a good place for our family to eat. We drove all around with places turning us away or wanting us to wait 1.5+
We drove up to Spanky's at 7:56pm and were greeted with smiles and given menus right away. We thought oh perfect finally a place that isn't packed! Little did we know that they close at 8, but they never mentioned it as we missed the sign on the door (we would've turned away) thank you spanky's staff for being so gracious to us and welcoming us despite us arriving so late 😊

Showed up around 12:50 and they were still busy. Choice of order in or take out. They have outside seating available and will bring you your order, even outside. The outside seating is by the water so had a nice breeze. Certainly enough choices for social distancing. Restrooms were clean. Masks required right now. Lots of choices for hamburgers, hot dogs and some Mexican dishes. We went with the bison burgers with French fries and one with onion rings. Onion rings were just perfect - nice light crunchy coating. They came with a campfire type sauce. Fries were cooked just right and not a lot of salt. The bison burger was overhanging the bun and came with lettuce tomatoes pickles and onion on a soft fresh bun with cheddar cheese. I added avocado which was fresh. The burger had great flavor and was moist. I would not want to try eating in the car as it is one on those burgers you need napkins and it will fall apart a bit. You can order in the drive thru or go inside and they will bring your order to you...even outside. Pleasant staff. The tea was fresh- no bitter flavor. Also tried the strawberry shake which was good but average.
Oh my gosh we came back and tried the fried mushrooms... the best ever. I can't decide which are better the onion rings or the shrooms!
Burger combo is amazing and for under $8!
We love and have been going to Whataburger when we are in the mood for a good burger. Let’s just say that we have been introduced to a great replacement for our Whataburger cravings!
The fry sauce is great with a nice kick to it too!

I saw they had way more menu options than we had time to look at in the moment. However we are so excited to try the other options.
Haha ah maybe one day I will get the Space X burger, forgot to take a picture of it. That looks like it would be a challenge.
UPDATE:
One day was yesterday, oh man that SpaceX burger is gigantic and delicious, only ate half of it but am enjoying the other half today!
some would say i got the works… others would say i just got a mushroom avocado cheese burger… whatever u call it.. it was very good :) and the sauce for the fries is perfect. staff seems chill.. quick service.. awesome food
