In spite of the difficulty in finding parking due to construction projects in the area, it’s worth checking out this historic seafood eatery that is still family-owned after 73 years and 4 generations. Clean, neat, and tidy, with great food served by pleasant & attentive staff. Note: This is THE original Oyster Bar in the Brownsville area, and I remember being brought here by my mother in the 1960’s, and it offered great seafood and was well-managed back then, too!
Excellent seafood restaurant, our meals always come out hot and are quickly served. They have great lunch specials, half and order of shrimp or fish with fries or baked potatoe, and a tea.
Fried shrimp and oysters of course, but what's really good is the homemade tartar sauce!
Mom used to work here many years ago... the food still tastes amazing and good service...
They were about to close. But our food was fresh especially the baked potatoe. The place super clean and our waiter so nice. This place is always a must.
I gave them a 4star because I paid for my plate and beverage for almost $22. Fillet of fish, shrimp and baked potato were on the plate along with a cold salad. For the price I paid I feel that the salad should be on a separate plate because it is cold and might have some water from the lettuce that will run to the hot items on the plate which it did.
Love the fish here! Highly recommend you try!
The food is always very good as well as the service. I've been going to this place for many years, the best.
Decade after decade the seafood is fresh and delicious! Awesome beer options and the wait staff is efficient. We went in for several drinks as we sampled the cuisine as usual, no problem. Not noisy or pushy. I took the fried shrimp this time though I usually ask for the Fisherman’s variety plate…🤌
I picked up lunch for my husband and he said it was really really good and well served especially because he requested a baked potato instead of the fries with his platter.
