The lunch plates of soup, rice, entrée, and eggroll are a good value and a variety from burgers, tacos and pizza. If standard Americanized Chinese is what you want, this will not disappoint. The locals obviously like it as the place is busy with folks loading up on carbs and sodium. That is why I went and that is what I got.
There are a couple of Lotus Cafes in town. I love another one but the family likes this one better.
Off the Boca Chica strip can be a heck getting in and out unless you take the backroad.

Nice place to get dinner, quiet, food is great but there are some improvement areas, fried rice it's supposed to be more savory and with more ingredients.

Lotus Cafe is a great experience and not costly.
They have a good traditional Chinese menu with one or two Thai dishes. Place is clean with good service, but not fast. Prices are very reasonable. They also offer combo plates at 8.95 which come with choice of soup, rice and an egg roll. They take credit cards and have high chairs.
They serve complimentary won tons which are deadly to diets!
I had the sweet sour chicken and almond chicken combo. The almond chicken came with a lot of vegetables which I like. My husband had the chili shrimp and sweet - sour shrimp. He said it was good but not as hot as he expected.
We got a piece of tres le he cheesecake to go which was decadent.
I would of gave 5 stars but I didn't like the fact they used spaghetti noodles instead of ramen noodles other than that everything else was really good 👍
So great FOOD(chicken fried rice) for sure! You need to find your vibe as far as taste. Service tho I got to admit I do like that they have a great team. One takes your order and one refills and picks up your plates. Biggest issue by far is that the place has a terrible odor!
This place has the best Hot and Sour Soup! My go to dish is the Chicken and Beef Kung Pao with a side of garlic noodles! Also, the Limon Chicken Wing style (an off menu item) is pretty good if you like Spicy food! If you liked the Lotus on Price Rd, you will like this place!
The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. One nice thing is that you can order the lunch combinations in the evening.
The food and customer service was great, they have light music in the place too. The daily specials and the "Everyday Specials" have good prices if your having a hard time picking what you want.
If the place is packed, then expect to wait awhile for customer service, including getting your food. The peking duck is fantastic, just be patient since since that dish takes awhile to cook.
Stopped by during the heavy rain for dinner. Overall a very good dining experience.
