Good food and nice clean dinning area. Took 30 minutes but the food was worth the wait. They should have at least one more person on staff. They looked overwhelmed for a bit.

El Pato is my go to spot whenever I am craving carne guisada. In my opinion the carne guisada and their breakfast tacos are always good. Today was no different. I was really hungry and decided to stop by to get a carne guisada plate and 2 breakfast tacos. As usual the food was delicious. The staff and service were also great.

I came in and ordered my food and me not paying attention I ordered the wrong plate and when my food came to my table I saw it was the green enchiladas and the waitress asked me if I wanted it exchanged and I honestly did but I didn’t want them throwing food away so I told her that I would eat it and a minute later the manager Cindy came to my table and asked me again and again I explained to her that I hate throwing the which is what they have to do so I kept my plate and she was kind enough to get me 1chalupa which is what I wanted with my enchiladas (red) so thanks to Cindy and Serina and especially the waitress for caring enough to let her manager know and taking the time to fix a mistake I did thanks for caring
I ve been going to patos since I was in my 20's I'm now in my 50's. I use to love their tacos. Lately they are short staffed, the manager is cooking instead of taking care of issues or concerns. The egg is old and dry. You wait 40 minutes for tacos and the order is wrong and they look at you like if you are in the wrong. Not going there anymore. So sad. I really loved this place.
I usually don't post reviews on restaurants I go to but this morning I had the best experience ever. Marisa took my order on the phone and was the most courteous person I have ever spoken to when placing orders. She was even nicer in person, classy and professional, full of smiles and enthusiasm. She put a smile on my face and set the tone for the day. Thank you Marisa!

The funny thing is that my husband and I went to a Mexican restaurant in Harlingen last week that we weren't impressed with. It popped up for him to review as El Pato, so he reviewed it. The owner called him very concerned and sent us a gift certificate to try again.
As we're eating at El Pato in Brownsville, we're realizing that we just got a free meal here because a completely different restaurant wasn't very good. We're so sorry for the mix up, but it shows how committed the owners are to their business. We will be back. So, this was a great introduction to you folks and this will be our go to restaurant in Brownsville from now on!!!
