First, I have to comment on is the PRICE - super pricey. Spent $60+ for 2 people. But in an inflation period, I suppose it makes more sense. I hope the price goes down a little on some items.
Second, food was good but not over-the-top amazing. As a vegetarian I enjoyed not having to worry if meat was in the dish so 10/10! Some items were really spicy for my husband, so if you or someone in your party are sensitive to spice maybe ask your waiter how spicy a dish is before ordering.
Third, the food was served in paper plates and red solo cups yet they hand out bamboo utensils for sustainability? They have styrofoam to-go containers but eco-friendly bags to carry them in? It seemed all too confusing to me. As someone who is sustainability-oriented, it just truly felt contradictory.
Good food, attentive service. We ordered chips and guacamole, cauliflower wings and enchiladas. Everything was good! I'm happy to see plant based restaurants sprouting all over the country! Good luck to the owners and a wholehearted thank you!
When I went to Brownsville I didn't expect to find one of the best vegan restaurants in the country. And yet, I did. Great menu with tons of options, delicious home made vegan cheese, and filling menu items.
I strongly recommend the stuffed Jalapenos and the Philly Cheesesteak both of which are amazing and filling. Prices are perfect, and the decor is homey and enriching.
Strongly strongly recommended. Possibly worth coming in from out of town for.
How cool that this place exists in Brownsville! I came here in a Saturday evening and had great service with immediate seating. We ordered the flautas, posole, tostadas de barbacoa, and marisco-less coctel. The coctel was our favorite! I loved the posole, also. Flautas were very fresh and delicious, but I found the tostadas a bit salty. I lived that they gave us ruedas as an appetizer. Prices are excellent and I would come back every time I'm in Brownsville.
I myself am not vegan but found the food extremely tasty. the dishes are very well served. the decor really captures the heart of downtown Brownsville. they even have a childrens spot to go play which my son absolutely loved. even if you are not hungry and are just in the moon for a drink and good music thats very chill this is a spot for you
Veggie Del Sol is located in downtown Brownsville. The location was fairly easy to find and super cute too! We loved their kid spot (it kept our little ones entertained!) The food was pretty good... especially the stuffed jalapeños. Yum! If you’re looking for plant based food in the lower Valley, visit this neat little local business.
Amazing food and congineal staff!! Best spot for vegan/vegetarian food!!
I had the Diablo burger with rice and black beans on the side. Also had the stuffed jalapenos which are mouth watering delicious!!
Good food and nice people. Also the environment is super clean. They have 2$ tacos on Tuesdays.
Pretty good for the price, you'll probably love it more if your vegan. As a non-vegan, I recommend the Thai chickpea. If your not a fan of everything tasting like coconut oil I suggest you mention that. Good specials and desert
I'm so excited a place like this opened in the Valley. I finally get to eat all my Mexican favorites even though im vegetarian now. They also have awesome other vegetarian and vegan options to try! Please support this great spot!
