What a great little find in Calabash, North Carolina... just north of Myrtle Beach. Great guys there and food was amazing....everything so fresh and home made. Best hotdogs (I had a reuben hot dog and Chuck had the chili dog with coleslaw on the side) ever....wonderful brownie and cinnamon bun too....can't wait to go back
Was sitting on the beach and was looking for something to have for lunch and The Hot Dog came up. Decided to give it a shot for a quick bite to eat. Place was very easy to find. Place has a small counter to sit at and also some tables inside with plenty of outdoor seating.
We ordered a make your own and also a meal deal. Which gave you a hot dog of your choice, a side and a drink. You can put any topings on the hot dog you like. One had the chili with out the coleslaw but had cucumber instead. The make your own had mustard and sauerkraut on it. The role was nice and light and airy. You can tell they are homemade. The hotdog was about 6 inches long and about a inch round. Both were very good along with the side or macaroni salad and potato wedges. Both the dudes were very good. Service was great, the cook was very nice and even asked how everything was. Would go back again when in the area.
I had heard awesome reviews and had to try their hot dogs. My diet mainly consists of fruits and veggies. It’s been at least 7 years, since I’ve had a hot dog. I must say it was worth venturing off my typical diet. I ordered the Nacho Dog which has jalapeños, onions, and shredded cheddar cheese. I was impressed with the quality, taste and even with their customer service. Since the hot dogs are made fresh daily with ground sirloin and the buns are baked each morning, I’m not feeling too guilty! They also offer fresh made sides and desserts. Try it... you will thank me later!
I am a local and can say great dogs! Hotdog was delicious and with the homemade buns and fresh ingredients, you really can’t beat it! My husband and I both got a Reuben and a Nacho thinking I could eat both but they were huge. We will be back!

We went for dogs - drove from Surfside Beach and it was well worth the ride. I'm from a hot dog capital (New Castle PA) and I'm always in search of the best dog. This place makes everything on site, you won't be disappointed. Had the chili dog and it was loaded with chili and the bun was super fresh and baked that day. By the way, the owner has a PGH connection, his grandfather had a restaurant in North Versailles PA.
Good customer service. Great dog! Pricing is more than fair. Had a chilly dog. Fresh and tasty. Desserts are good. Would recommend for a quick lunch. Would be back.
The staff is very polite, courteous and helpful. The service was great and the hot dogs are AMAZING ! A MUST try on any road trip that takes you through Calabash!
Fantastic little hot dog place. So cheap but nothing sacrificed in quality. $5 dogs (dogs and buns made fresh daily), and add drink + side + dessert for $1 more total. Absolutely cannot be beat. Awesome and friendly staff, quick service, clean interior. The dogs taste great, as do the buns. Easy and plentiful parking. I highly recommend checking this place out.
Visiting from Pittsburgh and stopped here. Had the chili dog, amazing! Homemade buns and dogs. Tried the Baby lemon meringue, chocolate and banana creme pies delicious! Price is right too! You won't be disappointed.
Great, inexpensive food! Service was a little sketch because they gave me the wrong item, and I had to ask for the side and dessert we ordered because they weren't on our trays. The buns and the mac salad were my favorites!
