The interior is amazing to begin with. Anyone who knew what the inside looked like before, will not believe your eyes. Now, on with the food and staff. The staff is friendly even when the place is packed, which has been most days since they opened the doors. We shared the sashimi & sushi platter for two. Out of this world. We are so happy we have something more to choose from in Calabash now. We can get quality service, great food, including real sushi, at a reasonable price with out having to drive to Myrtle Beach.

Ashley Joy Jason and Allison Rae really make this place feel homely and vibrant. Always a hit after 5pm any day of the week. The wait staff are prompt , the kitchen staff are quick and efficient and the food always comes out yummy. I’m always pleased by the food and comraderie amongst workers. I would definitely take time to check this place out . It’s typically packed especially on weekends in the afternoon and evening. During the summer it’s hard to get a spot so opt for the bar if you can. Ashley or Rae at the bar will take care of you . I frequent here weekly so it has to be good ! If you haven’t tried eel before I would do the unagi don! Must try !
How to best enjoy this amazing place:
Come in on a Wednesday after 4:00.
1. Grab two stools at the bar and be greeted by Rae, who is incredibly friendly and smart.
2. Order a large hot sake and edamame to start.
3. Order seaweed salad, miso soup, Kung Pao Jumbo Shrimp, Dragon & Phoenix, and a cold 22 ounce Sapporo beer.
4. Enjoy.

We love coming to get sushi here on vacation. The service is a little on the slow side but good quality sushi! I tried the Beach Bum for the first time! Amazing!

This place has such good food. When it's not open this place deceptively looks like it's not in business anymore. Dont let that discourage you, because this place is top notch for both dining in and take out. Fresh, well prepared food. Very friendly staff. Food comes out on time.
Has a nice little sushi bar in there as well. The dining in experience is very nice. Inside looks great. You wouldn't feel out of place if you had a special occasion here.
The stand out is the quality of food though. It offers the meals you'd expect from this kind of cuisine but everything is notably of good quality.
If you're looking for this kind of food in the area, I highly recommend you choose this spot. There's really nothing else around here that compares.
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal here, we enjoyed sushi & hibachi options and the mai tais are addictive. Ashley is so awesome!! We will be back.
Good Asian food. My parents say the General Tso's shrimp/chicken sauce is excellent. The shrimp were huge! My sushi was great & a $6 glass of wine (special)? Can't beat that! The only drawback is there's not a lot of waiting area if the weather is bad. We waited 20 minutes.
Our second visit, the first visit was stir-fry and it was fantastic. Tonight the three of us really enjoyed the "show" sitting at the Sushi bar at Calabash Sushi and watching the sushi chefs make food into art. The Volcano roll and Snow White roll were amazing! The Spidar roll was small, but flavourful! The chefs created a speciality roll to perfection. Our servers were excellent and the value was very good! We will return!!
Enjoyed the food and service very much, we’ll definitely be back! Inside is more spacious than it appears from outside, 3 sections give space btw tables. We arrived at 6:15 on a Thursday and were promptly seated at a window (more folks continued to arrive even as we ate). Service was great, our waitress was quick and attentive. Sushi: Super Duper roll was very good, although the spicy white tuna roll was like the understudy that stole the show! My husband had Kung Puo Chicken and *almost* ate it all! The portions are not shy!! Great find.
I enjoy the warm welcome here, the service here is great! Food was good! Families and friends friendly! A little high on the price for sushi and sashimi considering being so close to the beach.
The curry can come just a little bit more salt and coconutty.
