Walk in with an appetite because the portions are humongous at this friendly family owned and operated Oceanside establishment. The hearty, rich gravy smothered over biscuits as a bread option with dishes is a meal in itself. Bea’s Stuffed Hash Browns with avocado, bacon and oozing jack cheese goodness is a potato lover’s dream dish.
Great little find. I would never have tried this place--- doesn't look like much from the inside or outside -- but heard from a relative that it was great. And so it was. Good home-cooked breakfast, large portions, fair prices and efficient service.

If you like hollandaise the you must try the Eggs Carlsbad! There is no better sauce on earth! Yum!!! They also absolutely the best biscuits and gravy. Great homemade food! Great prices and great service. Oh and Brittian really is that sweet! It's not an act!

Service was exceptional, fast friendly and got it right! Food was super yummy. Biscuit and gravy was amazing! Well worth the stop for breakfast I bet lunch is tasty.

Probably the best breakfast I've ever had. The staff is the most courteous I've had. Raspberry stuffed french toast is top tier. Coffee is so good and everything from the bacon to chicken fried steak is superb. A definite must.
OMG! This place appears to be one of those family owned type of restaurants, and their food is awesome. Had breakfast here one day and ended up going back a couple times that week cause it was just so darn good.

So I've been in Carlsbad for several days working and this morning I woke up in need of breakfast and comfort food. Well check this out....Don's Country Kitchen in downtown Carlsbad. Quaint and cozy place. Feels just like sitting at home in my own kitchen. About 10-12 tables and a counter inside. 5 tables outside .....sidewalk seating. I walked in put my name on the list. Bamm!! Just like that I was told I could pick any table. I went outside and the server was right behind me. He brought me coffee and water. I ordered food. Although I didn't time it I'm sure it was out in under 5 minutes. Look at this feast of beauty!!! Food was good. Coffee good. Service was absolutely amazing. Stellar in fact. I was offered refills on coffee a couple times. Server dropped the check. Possible rain/drizzle coming. Servers offering outdoor umbrellas to the tables just in case. Server was able to put up an umbrella at one table without a hiccup (baby on board better safe than sorry!) In a nutshell....if you haven't eaten here before you should. Prices seem inline for downtown Carlsbad. Prices for quality are on the money. Don's closes at 1 pm daily. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. I feel like I just had great home-cooked meal but I don't have to clean up or do the dishes!!😁🥰
Came on a Sunday morning around 8:15am with a couple friends. We were happily seated outside and were met with a very exceptional waiter who was attentive and actually super nice. He took our order without issue. The food came out hot and fresh, I ordered the California omelette (highly recommend!) and got the orange juice which was also really fresh. Overall, Don's breakfast was a great spot to stop by for an early meal in beautiful Carlsbad. The ONLY issue we had was the donut shop next door because their drive-thru line is really close to where we sat outside. It wasn't a big issue, but we did joke around that if someone wasn't paying attention they could easily drive right towards the people eating! Other than that, I recommend Don's Country Kitchen! We will be coming back again
Small but great food and service. We were a party of 7 and they did their best to try to accommodate our family. Very fast service and helpful with questions we had. Highly recommend this diner
