I could not have possibly have been at Cessy's in Carlsbad Village yesterday, as Facebook suggests. The Food Police (wife) does not allow it. However, if I were there, I would be able to tell you that they have the best California Burrito in San Diego County.
Been going hete since a kid i love this place!Best Mexican food ive ever had,try the beef burrito plate!
Small diner with good mexican food. Husband and I had the Carne Asada tacos. Kids shared a cheese quesadilla. The quesadilla and flour tortillas are huge. Good spot to stop for a quick casual bite to eat.
Taquitoes galore great value

Cessy No Messy!. Always loved Cessy's and it's simple, yet delicious tacos and burritos. Very filling and you pay for what you get. Sand everywhere on the floor and always reminds me of good times growing up. Definitely a locals place so if you're lookin for fancy...try one of the touristy spots along the seawall.
Cheap and good. Fast, cheap homemade mexican food, just steps from the beach.
Best Carne Asada Burritos. I love Cessy's. The Carne Asada Burritos are the best. They keep their Carne Asada Burritos simple. Meat, guacamole, and pico de gallo. My wife loves the California Burritos which is a Carne Asada Burrito with french fries and cheese as well. In my opinion, the fries aren't that good and I prefer the Carne Asada. The rolled tacos are also good. The regular beef tacos are ok.
Cessy's was fast, inexpensive, and tasty. We ordered shrimp quesadillas, enchiladas, and burritos. All were filling and good,
The shrimp taco was a definite winner, and the other two were about average. It is easy to see why it is a local favorite though; good food, good location, and it seemed like pretty good people. I'm not sure how many taco shops there are in Carlsbad, but this is one that I would definitely recommend checking out on your way to or from the beach.
Breakfast burritos were pretty good and prices are even better especially for a location so close to the beach. We also got a trio sample of tacos - fish, shrimp and chicken. Fish was good, chicken was OK, shrimps were tiny though, salsas were good accompaniment
Great spot for some classic Mexican favorites. I got the fish tacos and they were delicious—I’d give them an 8.1 out of 10. You put some salsa verde and lime on and they have a great flavor. I’d give the rice and beans a 7.5 out of 10. The chips are freshly made and are crispy and crunchy. The salsa I’d give a 7.9 out of 10, it’s really chunky with awesome flavor. Got the chicken taquitos for the kids and they were ok...6.6 out of 10. One of our friends got the carne asada burrito and said it was great. They have soft serve as well. Parking around the back. Basic interior. Salsa bar. Clean. Good spot to hit up if you’re in the area.
Delicious freshly made Mexican food! My wife and I ordered California Burrito and the Carne Asada Fries. Cali Burrito came with Avocado inside versus Sour Cream, Skirt Steak, Cheese and French fries. The Carne Asada Fries is exactly like the Cali Burrito minus the burrito wrap as you can see in the picture.
Amazing, hands down best taco shop. Everything is fresh and delicious. Cheap compared to most places in the area. Still serving soft serve ice cream and only a block from the beach. Breakfast options are delicious and breakfast burritos are filling. Must try the carne asada burrito or carne asada fries.
I like their carne asada burritos and rolled tacos most of all. Fish tacos, crispy beef tacos and carne asada nachos are also nice. Very family-owned, community vibe. The mini salsa bar offers a few selections for different tastes.
