This place was fabulous. Perfectly setup easy to use concept. Funny I saw a few reviews saying it was a difficult and confusing concept. Well if this concept is to difficult for you, than you should probably just stick to fast food or a buffet and a 6 pack of keystone on your mommy's porch! Its so simple and customizable. Drink 2 oz or 16 oz. The only thing I might change would be to add juice or milk for the child's menu! All on all I would absolutely recommend this place ! If you like beer it a must, they were very accommodating with our 5 year old as my wife let me have a few "tastes" and she tried 3 oz of a stout.
What a great place! You all have got to go here! Helping yourself and pulling the tap to so many beers and paying by the ounce is an ingenious idea. We got to taste so many types of beers and they even have wine. The food was delicious. We had fried pickles, crab cake balls, crab chowder, and more. Every time we go to Carlsbad, we're going to stop by and enjoy Barrel Republic.
I’m a big fan of the serve your own beer/self serve tap concept - it lets you control exactly how much of each beer you get, so you can taste a bunch, and pour larger pours of the kinds you like. Good tap selection here with a lot of different styles, including some wines, seltzers, and non-alcoholic options. Didn’t get food here, but it looked good. This was my second time here but hopefully not the last!

We went for the $8 Burger Special (all day on Mondays). We had the special and some canned soda. The burgers were huge, lots of fresh toppings, and came with pickle on the side, and fries..which were delicious! They also have great ranch.
As others have mentioned it is a concept tap house. You pour your own beer (wine, mead, seltzers) from an array of offerings. We aren't big drinkers but the concept is cool.
They have indoor seating and covered outdoor seating. We noticed lots of T.V.s with sports playing, rock music (not too loud, which I appreciate), there also appeared to be outdoor heaters as well, which should be nice on cooler nights. The bar/restaurant had plenty of seating, both high/low tops and tables to accomodate larger groups. I would also agree that it appeared to be accessible. While we were there, I noticed a pretty mixed crowd, which included children, so, it is family friendly. The bathroom (ladies) bathroom was clean.
The only things to note which might bother some folks is that there is no service. You order at the counter, the food is brought to you (no one checks back).
There is usually free street parking with in a few blocks. We went around 3 pm and found parking, no problem.
All in all- would go again.
Great location by the farmers market in Carlsbad. Perfect for people watching and sampling loads of beers. You only pay for what you pour, so you can try a lot of beers, wines etc. And they had cold brew coffee to go. Great place to hang out.
Hard ten. Clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Amazing crowd. Very social. Lots of beer to choose from. Even if I was trying to find a flaw it will be very very impossible. Did I mention how amazing the people working there are?
Fantastic selection of beers, friendly staff, incredibly delicious food perfectly paired with beers they will even quarter and Order of food for the table.

Fun beer buffet place, has food, many beers to choose from, you get a bracelet so you can how much y I u have poured in, and how much that barrel of beer has.
