Amazing. By far the best restaurant I’ve been to in San Diego. The meal was 4 courses with surprises in between. I felt satisfied and $90 a person is a very fair price for what we enjoyed! The dishes were some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in my life. My favorite part was the sticky rice mango and basil dessert. Our server (whose name I’m forgetting) had moved here from Japan to take this job. He was intelligent and professional, offering helpful wine suggestions and explaining the menu well! If you haven’t already, book a reservation!
Deserving of the Michelin star. No complaints. Really great service, the quality of the food, flavor, freshness, creativity are Michelin level. The open kitchen makes indoor seating even better. The drinks were excellent. We made our next reservation before we left.
I was super excited to try this restaurant especially after hearing they were awarded a Michelin star. The parking was easy since there's a large lot right behind the restaurant. For the menu, you chose from 3 or 4 options for each course of 4 courses. Everything I tried was excellent. We also started with some oysters, my favorite. The cocktails were also very tasty, try the fraise. The cheese course for dessert was interesting and delicious. We sat inside near the kitchen which was really fun to watch. Highly recommend!
I completely understand why Jeune et Jolie was awarded a Michelin star. We went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a selection of a la carte menu items at the bar and savored every delicious bite. The cocktail menu is creative and sophisticated. Service was excellent and the space is gorgeous. While the price will make it a splurge option for many it is well worth it--a truly extraordinary culinary experience. We can't wait to go back.
I took my boyfriend last night to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. We enjoyed one of the best meals we’ve ever had.
The decor is beautiful, the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the food was just incredible. Each first bite we took caused us to drop our heads and mutter over how delicious it was. The dishes were gorgeous and well portioned. The tomate and the halibut dishes were melt in your mouth! A 4 course meal (technically 7 courses!) like this I would expect at least twice the price!
The added touches like signed birthday and anniversary cards, as well as champagne toast starters, really made this a special evening. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience- we are counting down till we visit again!
Easily the best dining experience I've had in San Diego. While the food and drink was wonderful the true standout was the immaculate service of the staff. I really enjoyed our commis de débarrasseur I forget his name but he did an amazing job, extremely professional and a highlight of the meal. Each dish was described in great detail which was really fun. I was a little hesitant to get the wine pairing but it was well worth it! The sommelier was very passionate about the picks and gave a little lesson on each which was really fun. The food itself was surprisingly filling all kinds of wonderful flavors and textures. I believe it was 7 dishes in total. One member of our party requested gluten free options and they had great accommodations. Congrats on the Michelin star! So happy to see such wonderful dining in my home town of Carlsbad. Jun/22/22
We had the tasting menu and it was amazing. My only complaint was it was quite a busy night and each course arrived about 20 min apart. They fill it in with some pastry and amuse so it was ok. The 3 course took over 2 hours.
Jeune et Jolie is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in Carlsbad. I would highly recommend reservations which are a breeze on OpenTable.
The vibe is casual yet trendy. The inside establishment had a feel of a throwback 50's diner or French bistro with a modern twist... Like the music is played on tape reels that is sent to a McIntosh receiver. The open kitchen inside the restaurant is a sight to behold and the bar is just as impressive.
The 4 course tasting menu offers a wonderful farm to table experience and the service is wonderful, thanks to Joe taking care of us- he is great. The menu options are diverse and extremely well planned. The food isn't overly heavy but rather fresh and light yet filling.
I highly recommend taking a detour and checking this place out if you are looking for a unique and imaginative French meal. It is well deserving of its 1Michelin Star.
