My brother in law and his wife bring food over from Jade Palace sometimes. The ribs are delicious. His wife is Chinese and orders from the Chinese menu which is something I'd recommend. Learn chinese or find someone who will come read it to you.
If you like spicy mix of meats and veggies I highly recommend the Spicy Hot Pot. It's my new favorite. That being said if you like really spicy make sure you tell them to make it really spicy. When my brother in law's wife gets is they give it to her Chinese spicy. When I got it it was very mild. Next time I will make sure to let them know to make it as spicy as they would normally.
The eggplant is amazing too. If I lived closer and had more money I would definitely visit more often and try some of their other foods. But I don't and I don't so spicy hot pot it will be every visit!
Solid traditional Chinese food and great at handling both large and small groups. Prefer it to gourmet kingdom hands down.
This is most authentic Chinese restaurant around Chapel Hill and Carborro. I started to order when I was a freshman. Right now, after 3 years, I am stilled amazed how delicious dishes are. My Chinese friends liked to have hot pot there before. They told me jade palace’s hot pot is like comforting food for them. Also, the lady worked there is really nice.
Yesterday my husband and I ordered from Jade Palace, after 2 years of failed orders at other Chinese restaurants. So far this was the best Chinese food I've had since moving to NC in 2018! Our order was delivery and everything tasted fresh and not soggy. The spring rolls had a perfectly crispy exterior with a smooth interior, but not mushy veggies inside. The shrimp friend rice was perfect- I like my rice cooked somewhere between soft and crisp. My husband's mild orange chicken had the best sauce I've had. The walnut shrimp had walnuts and sliced bananas underneath it for flavor. I never had walnut shrimp between it was surprisingly tasty! We definitely plan on eating here again!
Easy to order menu online. Living close by, its one of my go to for delivery when things get busy at home.

Hands down the best Chinese food in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area. The American-style menu is much more flavorful than any other typical takeout places that I’ve tried before.
Jade is a beloved, long-time favorite of locals in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. I don't think of it as the most authentic of our Chinese restaurants (that distinction would go to Gourmet Kingdom), but the food is always very good and the owner is very friendly and conscientious. In 15 years, we've never had a bad meal or bad experience here.
The things we order with great consistency include: Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, Wonton Soup, Chow Fun, Dragon Phoenix, and shredded pork and dried tofu. No dishes have been disappointing. Lunches are inexpensive and worthwhile.
What it is Google. Had a quick 💨 lunch special today here and it was great. The service was okay - the waiter was definitely busy, serving multiple tables at once, so they took a while to come back. The food was great though. Highly recommend the General Tso’s lunch special - ask for “more spicy.” Ahh. Their egg drop soup was great too. 🤤🤤 Can’t beat their lunch special (11AM-3PM) for $7.50 - they have lots of other options too!
My go-to spot for Chinese takeout. Consistent, clean, reasonably priced, and the service is always great.
