Just had the chance to visit this small establishment over in Chantilly after hearing about it on social media. I was quite satisfied, to say the least. While the menu is pretty short - largely focussing on a selection of soups with a few hearty options to share (soondae and jokbal) - what they do offer is quite solid. The gamjatang and jokbal were both very enjoyable, the first coming in a large portion while the second was quite flavorful and fresh. I will definitely return in the future.

Everything we ordered was tasty and flavorful. The waiters were friendly, attentive and provided a great service. We are definitely going to return and try a different dish.

I'd sometimes crave 감자탕 gamjatang and sundae 순대 and I would make a trip to visit this place. The food is good - not just for the price or considering that it's not Korea, but genuinely good. Though I wish they would pay more attention to packing their takeout, since sometimes my containers come open and food all spilled inside the bag :(

Do yourself a favor and just come eat here. There are a lot of new seolleongtang (ox bone soup) houses opening up, but Kohyang House is where you should go. For $15, they give you soups that are absolutely filled to the brim with meat. I ordered the 소머리국밥 (beef cheek stew) while my friend got the 설렁탕 (ox bone soup), and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The soup isn't greasy at all, and the meat itself was very tender. The side dished has two types of kimchi and went very well with the soup. The staff was also friendly and gave us refills of side dishes when asked. I'll have to go back to try some of their other soups and their soondae and jokbal! Their gamjatang is freaking amazing and has sooooo much meat. Just eat here. The soup is authentic and their side dishes and kimchi are also very good.

Ko Hyang Jip is one of those famous restaurants that you only get to know by word of mouth. Given that it's tucked away with a bunch of warehouses, one wouldn't even know that this is a popular restaurant among koreans. It's by far one of the best korean soup and soondae restaurant in the DMV area. Compared to well-known restaurants like Seoul Soondae, Annangol and To Sok Jip, they offer bigger portions for the same price. I mean, just look at the gamjatang! It had so much meat compared to what I had in the restaurants I mentioned above. Their soondae was excellent too.

My favorite place to go eat Korean Stew! Very good Korean stew place in Chantilly area! (Soondae, sullungtang) If you have tried korean intestine stew in Korea and liked it, this place is a must!! Price is little bit on the expensive side - but i would say its worth it for sure

I have no idea how this place doesn’t have 500 5-star reviews. The food was AMAZING AND it came out so fast. We ordered bulgogi and the brisket soup. The bulgogi is the best I’ve ever had. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, too. We will absolutely be back.

They focus only on a select number of Korean dishes, and they've pretty much perfected each one that we've tried. The soups always come with an abundant amount of meat. Customer service is also great - genuinely confused about the reviews that say otherwise.

If the food served here is how it should taste in South Korea, I am absolutely jealous and enamored. Ko Hyang is immediately on my 'death row' meal list of places to eat. It's just the quality and freshness of absolute Korean classics that makes all haute, modern, or Michelin ratings rediculously superfluous. We've had the same dishes and soups at asian supermarkets and restaurants, but it feels all of them use day old ingredients - but not Ko Hyang. The second most major factor is the returning clientele and many quietly waiting for a seat to open way after main rush hours - this factor absolutely speaks for itself! First, the bonchon is just so fresh. And we ordered Seolleong Tang (briskets w/ noodles in beef broth) and Ojingeo Dolsot (squid w/ veggies in stone pot). We CRRUUUSSHHHED it. The Seolleong Tang is full body and so rich. The dolsot stone bowl held heat during the entirety of our meal. And the crispy burnt rice at the bottom of the dolsot bowl has got to be the secret part of the dish that no one knows about. The pics speak for themselves but most good food taste better than it looks. Bottomline, I'll take meals at Ko Hyang over michelin-starred restaurant anyday. If you decide to come, be prepared to wait just like everyone else.
