Chuan Wang Fu Charlotte

Sadly recently closed. Best Schezuan Chinese food in town, very spicy if you order from the Chinese menu, but you can ask to have it toned down. They still serve Japanese food as well, so you will have two menus. Only beer and wine available now, they no longer serve liquor. It used to be that it was never too crowded, but always good. Now it gets busy but it's still always good. Only problem is the service, which is generally slow. That said, this is definitely a place worth eating at, especially for authentic food.

Omg! What just happened? I just had the greatest Chinese food I've ever eaten anywhere, EVER! My boss has been telling me about this place for the last 2 months, just raving about it. He told me when I go tell them you want "their OTHER menu". If you don't ask for it they have a standard fair menu. But their "other menu" has truly authentic Chinese cuisine that will scare the unadventurous with dishes like pig's kidneys and pork blood soup, etc. We ordered about 6 or 7 different pork, beef, fish dishes and sushi and everyone shared. Every dish was the best I'd ever had. I don't know what they do back in the kitchen and I don't WANT to know. I'm just trying to figure out how soon I can get back to this restaurant. If you're a fan of Chinese food...I mean, REALLY a fan, do NOT miss going here. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up... The place is also very clean and the staff is very attentive to you. Their English is "ok" and they will get you whatever you need but I can see how people might interpret then as rude but that's completely untrue. I just think language makes it difficult for them to express themselves so if you're sensitive go somewhere else but too bad you'll miss this gem.
