Great service, and amazing food! The waiter recommended the perfect bottle of wine for my companion and I. The wine list is huge and he was very keen to answer all of my questions (I wish I remembered his name!). I had the tomato mozzarella salad to start and the scallop special as my entree. My companion had the New York Strip. We agreed that everything was cooked perfectly. The portions were just the right size so nonetheless I was very satisfied at the completion of my entree. I looked over the desert menu and everything sounded delicious but I was very full so I settled on a shot of espresso which was a nice ending to the meal. Almost forgot to add that the waiter brought us a complementary slice apple pie with our espresso. I was able to enjoy a few bites, it was wonderful! I will most definitely be back... Annie Gunns just might be my new favorite restaurant!

The diversity of the menu is appealing and the quality of the food is exellent. The wine list is extensive and bartenders are skilled. Annie Gunn's is not an inexpensive restaurant but if you do not mind paying for quality food your dining experience will always be special. We enjoyed the two seafood specials which were perfect. AG's crab cakes are unparalled. One of our favorite restaurants for the past 20-years.

My wife and I had an anniversary dinner there on 4/21. Typical busy Friday night, yet they were able to sit us 30 mins earlier than our reservation of 9 pm. Our server Perry was excellent, very outgoing and personable. My wife has a gluten allergy, so he had some great suggestions and also checked​ with chef when needed. We had the cold smoked shrimp appetizer, which was phenomenal and salads to start. My wife had a filet and I had the New York Strip, both cooked perfectly. Great night with amazing service and meal. Thanks Annie Gunn's!!

Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite restaurants of all times. I've been going here since it first opened when it was just a couple tables in the bar. It never disappoints!
Annie Gunn's probably needs no other positive reviews but I just wanted to let oyster enthusiasts, such as myself, know they have the best in town! Hands down! Better than DeMun, better than Pearl and comparing Broadway to them is a joke! No one compares. I recommend eating their Prussian style, but tell the server to leave off the salmon roe...it is way too strong...the black caviar is perfect but they added what I suspect is salmon roe and its strong and fishy. Doesn't work, it's yucky! However, very easy to pick off!

I get that St. Louis has a little bit of city vs. county competition, but the number of times that knowledgable food enthusiasts that I trust have brushed off “The Gunn” is both disheartening and aggravating. If your aim is to eat at all of St. Louis’ best restaurants, a visit to Annie Gunn’s is in order. Actually, two visits are in order. Go for lunch and ask to be seated in the semi-outdoor atrium. Go for dinner and enjoy a decadent steak dinner with the finest wines. At some point I’ll write about their dinner, but this post will serve as a lunch guide.

Annie Gunn's longevity is no surprise. High quality ingredients went into all of the dishes we tried and execution was excellent. I've heard and read good things about their burgers so I'll have to make another trip to try those. Often I'm asked what the best steakhouse is in St. Louis and my usual reply is the one you make at home. As George Mahe recently reported, you pay for a lot of extra expenses when you order a steak (or really anything) at a restaurant - all the more reason why execution should be spot on when you do order a steak, especially at a steakhouse. Still there's little substitute for a nice dinner out for special occasions and for that purpose, Annie Gunn's hits on all cylinders

I've never had anything I didn't like (lunch or dinner) Yes, it's expensive, but yes, it's worth it.

Service has always been pleasant and genuinely sincere from management that you enjoy your experience.

Ate here again (lunch) on 4/15/16. Made the healthier choice of roasted turkey on whole grain bread with tomato jam-SO GOOD! You know what's so great about how this place? As we ate in the atrium, we observed other diners from all walks of life...a 'mature' group of ladies enjoying salads and Perrier, a couple enjoying burgers and beer wearing their 'loved' Blues jerseys, and a father who had just flown his private jet into town to have carpaccio and strip steak with his two little girls...which leaves us...just a normal couple in tennis shoes and jeans, people watching as we enjoy the savory flavors delivers Every. Single. Time. This is why we love this place. Don't change a thing.

The Classic Burger is huge, juicy and delicious. We started with the potato pancake which covered with thick cut premium bacon and a pear relish...awesome. My wife had the fried Bologna sandwich which was surprisingly good. The burgers are huge. Share an appetizer and a burger.

Great Lunch. Dropped in for an impromptu birthday lunch on Thurs. Bit of a wait but the market kept us busy. Seafood stew for B and specialty burger for me. both very good. Lunch menu has a lot to offer and we highly recommend. Service was excellent.

The Proof Is in the Pudding. We stumbled upon Annie Gunns off of Highway 64 accidentally, as we were searching for a generic place to eat. Good 'ole Urbanspoon popped up with this recommendation. It at first appears like a roadside pub and market, but once inside you realize it offers full scale dining at equally full scale prices. We were sat on the patio overlooking the well camouflaged and heavily landscaped parking lot. But it wasn't unpleasant by any means. The service was swarming, down to earth and very competent. They have been well trained in making the customer feel at home. I really enjoyed the casual, yet professional vibe they had. We were offered an apéritif, some bread and a cocktail menu. I tried the gin with two kinds of bitters, and it was a refreshing start to the meal. We opted for the Chef's choice mixed appetizer platter of smoked sausage, razor sliced imported hams, smoked pork belly with honey glaze, trout pâté, pickled vegetables, soft and smoked cheeses, and salty condiments of olives and nuts. Every single bite was well prepared by the friendly and welcoming sous chef who delivered it to our table. The food was served on a large wooden bread board and was quickly devoured by all. The kids enjoyed their burgers and mac and cheese. Another diner loved his pan-seared spicy trout with seasoned rice, and my wife enjoyed her cold smoked whitefish with fig salad. My starter of cheddar soup was earthy and had a biting, savory blend. My lamb chops were amazing, seared crispy and sweet with a chutney onion glaze, and cooked perfectly medium rare and tender. The accompanying blue cheese and gruyere layered potato gratin was delightfully browned on the edges, and had a wonderful tang and creaminess that was truly satisfying. Even the side of sweet potato hash was perfectly seasoned with nutmeg and a maple syrup and black pepper garnish. It was reminiscent of a sweet potato casserole at Thanksgiving. I finished with their famous bread pudding saturated with a French custard and raisins and topped with a world class caramel bourbon sauce that makes you smile. Far and away, the pudding was the best I have ever tasted. The other deep chocolate mousse, rich and almost bitter, and macerated berry cakes were well received by kids and adults alike. The price was steep, but in line with the excellent quality of the food. I want to revisit on a special occasion so that I have a proper excuse to try that astonishingly good bread pudding one more time. That alone should make this place a destination restaurant on your wish list.
