We had such an amazing, first time experience at Meritage. I really can not say enough about how good the food and service were. From beginning to end. Delicious.
We started with an off menu suggestion our server made for our appetizer(brussel sprouts) and the house made white wine sangria.
AMAZING! Even if you do not like brussel sprouts, normally, you must try this. Flash fried then with prosciutto, topped with their house made caesar dressing and then finished with fresh parmesan. Seriously. Amazing.
Sangria was fresh, lite and delightful.
We ordered and shared the scallops with lemon butter and the 16 0z prime rib and each added a half Meritage salad.
The salad was wonderful. Field greens, candied pecans, prosciutto, brie, pears and a yummy citrus vinaigrette. Perfect next coarse to the sprouts.
And main course did not disappoint. The scallops were large and so flavorful. The lemon butter was simple and a perfect pairing to the scallops. Roasted carrots were delicious.
Prime Rib was some of the best I have ever had. I wanted to keep eating it, but I was stuffed.
We have carried out desserts for later. I have no doubt they will be right on par with the rest of our meal.
We can not wait to return. We are already planning our take 2!
I really cannot say enough about this restaurant. The staff was very nice the service was very good. The food was absolutely fantastic. I ordered a steak with goat cheese crust and brussel sprouts. WOW! My work partner and I said outside. The only complaint was out of their control, the Train nearby. It is well worth ignoring the train even if it passes by five or six times. In my opinion, this is one of the best meals I've had in Cincinnati. The calamari was okay compared to the rest of the meal. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out perfect. My friend order his steak medium and it came out absolutely perfect. His Lobster was cooked to perfection. We were actually on our way to another restaurant that was closed on Mondays, we were so glad that the other place was closed and we tried this restaurant.
Wonderful location, beautiful restaurant. The food was well worth the price. The best part was the musician they had playing upstairs, Dave Ridenour. He performed songs that my family and I enjoyed a lot because of his musical ability on guitar and his vocals. I would go again just to hear him alone. The entertainment was made all the better by fabulous food and a yummy fall sangria, which I highly recommend. Our waiter and every other employee we encountered were warm, professional, and anticipated our every need.
