I'm so glad we found this spot a few years ago. We've never had anything on the menu that disappoints. The fried green tomatoes reminds me of my grandmother's cooking. And we always purchase the gumbo to go because we can't leave without more. In a society where customer service is weak at best, the service given by the staff is very fine.
Happy accident. Would totally stop here again. We were driving through Cincinnati on the way home and saw Pappadeaux from the road, so we stopped. Wait at 8pm was 2 hours, but smoQ was right next door with no wait. Never heard of smoQ, but we had a great experience. Staff was friendly and food was mostly excellent. We tried deviled eggs (so, so as the whites were too hard), chicken/sausage gumbo (great flavor and nice spicy kick), smoQ'd and fried chicken (wonderful combination of flavors) with sides of green beans (tasty with a touch of spice) and smashed potatoes with gravy (good, but a little basic) and the dessert of the day... 4-layer coconut cake (we didn't care for this as the actual cake was not moist and the frosting seemed like a cream cheese type frosting and that's not what we're used to on a coconut cake). "Only" 3 house BBQ sauces on the table, but excellent variety and all had great flavor. Will totally visit again.
If you want some GREAT BBQ, this is the place!!! I tried the Fried Smoked Ribs for the first time ever and they were the best! On other visits I ordered the Ribs and Rib-tips, and they were delicious as well; however, the Fried Smoked Ribs are OMG good!!! Another great must is the Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, Mac & Cheese and the Collard Greens! I telling you, if you're in the Springdale, Ohio area, you MUST give to place a go! Your taste buds will love you!!!
One of our very favorite restaurants in the world. Shrimp and Grits. Wow. Those grits are "South Carolina good."
The food is flavorful and reasonably priced. The restaurant was clean with a down home decor that we loved. But best of all our server David was fantastic! He welcomed us with a big smile and gave us a thoughtful menu tour. His recommendations were spot on and we will definitely be back! Recommendation is a big yes!
Tried this place years ago when it first opened and wasn't impressed, so I had never gone back. But was pleasantly surprised when a company function took me there for lunch. They have worked out whatever problems they had when they first opened.
The meats were tender and delicious. The portions were more than I could eat. The nacho appetizer was excellent. The complimentary corn muffins were warm and sweet. The selection of 3 different sauces on the table makes it easy for anyone to enjoy the barbecue flavor that they desire. One sweet, one spicy, and one mustard based.
The food was really good but or server wasn't great. She didn't advise if how much gratuity was, we didn't get refills, didn't check in to provide service. We had a birthday party and didn't acknowledge or all us any info. Then some of the rib tips were really dry and burned, she didn't offer to have them remade it anything. The management staff was friendly and ultimately they corrected any bill or food issues. In would just say when you go with a group of 8 or more please check you bills. One member in or party ordered a $11 meal and the gratuity was $8.... Which is over the 18% they said they charge. The waitress made a mistake, which I understand can happen. It's just that she said she had been there for several years..... Ultimately food was good for the price.
The food and service is always great here! The catfish and the salmon croquettes are my favorite. My husband loves the ribs and says they are always cooked to perfection. The brisket is quite good too. We never leave without dessert. No matter how full we are, it's just too good to skip!
Great food. The prices trend slightly high between $15-30 per person on average, but the portion size more than makes up for it. Our waiter was Terrell and he was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of. This restaurant doesn't go crazy with country style decorating and instead has a few of those touches while still feeling a bit higher class than similar restaurants, it would be a great date spot. Will definitely go again
Our server, Kierstin, was absolutely wonderful. It was our first time here, and we will be back. The service was great, and the food was fantastic.
I had the fried catfish, fries, and Mac n cheese. My husband said the ribs were the best he'd ever had. Other family had a bacon burger, rib tips, and a barbecue sandwich. All great. Clean, pretty restaurant.
