As everything is in lockdown, I will be back when everything is open to try it again. But the chicken was great! Moist and crispy. I got the hot level and was disappointed because it wasn’t really hot at all. Maybe I got the wrong level by accident or maybe the sauce wasn’t made like usual, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I wasn’t unhappy with my meal, just wish it were hotter. But the MAC was awesome! Cheesy and garlicky, I was very happy. I will definitely be back, but give it a try in the meantime and support local business!
Close to the baseball stadium. Great chicken! We had the honey mustard and the spiked honey dipping sauce. The Spiked Honey is described as Honey with Frank's Red Hot.. It should be described as Frank's Red Hot with a hint of honey. It's pretty much Frank's with nothing else. The craft drinks are really good as well. Especially the vanilla creme soda. Sadly they were out of banana pudding which I was really hoping for.
The service was EXCELLENT! I was unfamiliar with the restaurant but the hostess made sure we knew exactly what to expect! I WILL be a regular customer! Literally THE BEST fried chicken I've ever paid money for!
I really liked Joella's, my wife thought it was ok. She liked her chicken (1/4 White, Southern Style) but she did not like the green beans, and said the mac & cheese was "fine". She did admit that the chicken was better than Popeye's or KFC. I happen to love Popeye's but I have to say Joella's has them beat. I sampled several things. I also had the 1/4 White chicken, Mrs. Eva's style. It was really, really good. A little spice and really good flavor. I also had 2 tenders. One hot and one fire-in-da-hole. The only disappointment of the night for me was neither were all that spicey. I was expecting much more heat, especially with the fire-in-da-hole. Decent flavor, mild for the highest level of spice. I also had the collard greens (best I've had) and the red skin mashed potatoes which I thought were really good. I think this place is a must try if you like fried chicken. Definately beats the national chains in quality and flavor.

We only had time to hit one hot chicken spot in Cincinnati and Joella's was the recommendation. It turned out to be a superb one. We tried the tenders, wings, and straight up chicken and they were all absolutely mouth watering (if a little salty, but that's the style!). There are a number of sides to choose from: I recommend the Mac and Cheese and the fries. The chicken is crazy tender and very flavorful.
First visit to this restaurant proved to be a good choice. The hot is too hot to eat and enjoy. The tweener is better, as it has a small bite of hotness. The parm garlic fries are really good! For dessert - banana puddin'.
Wow!!! Ordered some big tenders and big wings. The chicken was awesome, very tender and juicy. The wings were much bigger than expected. Tried with the tweener heat level which was the perfect level of heat. It made my nose run a little. You could start to feel it but wasn't overpowering. Side orders were green beans with bacon, mashed potatoes with gravy and mac & cheese. Our favorite was the green beans. They were bacony and delicious. We'll definitely visit again when in the area.
Customer service was very good and the staff was very friendly they made sure we had everything we needed. We did not have to wait long for our food. They also allowed us to sample menu items before purchase.
Had Big wings platter: 3 whole wings with a side, i took Mac n cheese. Very well seasoned wings, different taste than other wing places. But it was very very OILY, and that's why I would rate it 3.5. The wings were served on top of a piece of bread to absorb the excess oil. Looks like it's their style but the skin was still very oily. See the pictures, oil was dripping out the serving sheet. Inside the wing was good- tender & seasoned. They also have white/dark meat quarters in the menu. Mac and cheese was awesome, loved the herby flavor.
I went on a busy Friday lunch and waited for almost 15 minutes for the order to be plated, not bad. Staff are really nice. Prime location but no parking.
Got my food as a door dash order.
The chicken and the greens were still hot, mac & cheese and mashed potatoes were not, found this a little odd, cause my dasher had to wait for my order. Overall the sides were ok, nothing a little salt & pepper could not fix. Overall I feel the food was good, next time I will eat in for the dine in experience. Would have taken a picture of the the side, but I was too hungry. Sure you all understand
