Delightful. Knowledgable and enthusiastic staff, great food, and enjoyable atmosphere. Couldn't have asked for a better date spot.
Took Too Long to Find. How have I missed this for however many years I've lived here? I guess b/c I am cheap, and this place certainly isn't. But, somebody else was paying tonight so I took advantage.
Nice atmosphere but a bit loud. Attentive waiter. The mussels and fried oysters were good, but I'm just not a big fan of those in general. I had the soup du jour which was a light vegetable soup with pesto. Excellent flavor, but served a bit less than hot. I'd order it again certainly (by the way, all comments are assuming someone else is paying).
The salmon on a bed of mushroom-risotto was amongst the best tasting pieces of fish I have ever had, a true delight to the palate, and a large filet which is sometimes sadly overlooked at some fancy places. Unfortunately, the waiter recommended medium-rare, which was just a little too undercooked for my tastebuds for salmon (for tuna it would have been perfect). My wife's shrimp and grits were definitely in the top 2 that we've ever had, thanks partly to the creative addition of goat cheese lumps. I probably will have a craving for those soon.
I'm told by those who had either the tuna special or the filet mignon that they were both excellent as well. The spicy sausage soup was very good, but less spicy than expected. Overall, we enjoyed the meal greatly and once we've saved up the dough, will go back promptly.
5-19 update: went back and glad I did. Swordfish was very good with a corn-peach salsa, but the lemon-spinach risotto was spectacular, definitely the best risotto I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.
Delightful! Lovely atmosphere, delicious dishes, EXTENSIVE wine selection in all price ranges - would definitely recommend for a special night out
