Great hidden spot at Ohio Statehouse with amazing comfort food. Great ownership and staff!
The absolute best meal I've had in a very long time. I had the brisket on a pita, Mac n cheese and potato hash. Everything was five stars and beyond delicious. I would eat here everyday if possible!!!!
I took a guided tour of the capitol building, with Patricia leading it. She knows lots of fascinating history and stories about the building and the people who worked there, and she made the tour really enjoyable. The map room is stunning, and being in the presence of so much history was an amazing experience. Beautifully designed and decorated, as well. The letter walls out by the front were very emotional.
Went here recently for a wedding. Makes for a beautiful venue but between all the stone, brick and glass, and seemingly not a stitch of any kind of fabric anywhere, it's really loud in there once the party gets going.
Beautiful Capitol building. One of the nicer exteriors I’ve been to filled with monuments. Ohio really has a deep history.
Beautiful building, you can see the solidity of it's construction down in the lower level. Heavy brick and stone, built for the ages, I can't believe this was built starting in 1839 because it's so large.
Security and staff were both friendly and helpful, you can see their pride and it's well deserved. Statues, paintings, history everywhere.
One thing other state capitols could learn from Ohio is their gift shop, first class with large selection of souvenirs.
I recommend you drop in and experience this yourself.
Highly recommend going for the free tour!
This place was huge! I wasn't sure what to expect as it was an impromptu stop; they just had us remove items into a bin and go through a metal detector! There's a little gift shop, a little restaurant, restrooms and 4 or 5 levels of displays, historical information rotundas and more. Pretty neat stop if you want to explore history or escape the outdoor weather for a moment.
The State House of Columbus, Ohio is historical and has tours. You will not be disappointed. President Lincoln Laid In State here. The American Flag that was hanging during that time is also displayed.
Beautiful Greek Revival structure, the seat of Ohio government this Columbus landmark has the requisite grand staircases, an interior dome, though not an exterior dome. A knowledgeable guide presents the story of this magnificent building on the hour.
Beautiful building inside and out. Very happy with the lawmakers this year who really seem to listen to the needs of the citizens and carry out the most important issues at hand. Very hard-working individuals this time around.
Stopped at the capital just to get pennies smashed in the machine in the basement. Very interesting building additionally. Take note that the parking garage under the building is extremely low. My F-150 nearly scrapped the ceiling.
