Went on a non typically busy night. The food was good, smaller portions sizes. The service definitely could have been better. First off our waitress was good but very impersonal and rushy, she kept trying to take our plates either before we were completely done with them or right after we finished, she made us feel very rushed.most people ordered the fried rice which was good, i had ordered steamed rice and did not receive it until literally the very end of my meal, when i had nothing left on my plate. Very disappointing. Other than our waitress the service was good though. I would go again.
If you're looking for FRESH ACTUAL SUSHI this is the place!!! Their sushi chef actually knows what he's doing & his chef creations are a well blended recipe sure to shock your taste buds. The hibachi is good (it's worth it to get extra rice) although a little pricy but you definitely get what you pay for so pay for the good quality not quantity. I love their celebration option & the pineapple boat that comes with it. The wait staff is always accommodating & full of smiles. This is my favorite date night place with my husband
Best Sushi in Columbus. I love sushi, and try to eat it wherever I can. It's tough to find decent sushi in a military town in SW Georgia, but I believe Mikata has some of the best. The fish is fresh, the variety is good and the chef is very friendly. I have not eaten any of the other food here, but I can vouch for the sushi bar.
Great sushi!. JK is probably the best sushi chef in town! His signature JK roll is a must have. Also the roll with mango..can't remember the name of it right now. Maybe it's the mango roll? or the Hawaiin roll?
Best hibachi in town. Mikata's is one of my favorite go-to places to eat. The soup is tasty and there is something wonderful about the dressing they use for the salad. I could drink the stuff. I usually get the Shrimp and Scallops. As with most hibachi grills, you get veggies, rice (the fried rice is excellent) and cabbage. The chefs are all super-nice and entertaining enough to keep 3 kids entertained.
Haven't been to the hibachi but the sushi is excellent. Every roll was delicious and the sushi chef was really nice and even talked about the different kinds of fish they had and how it should be cooked. Sitting right in front of him was a little too close, but it wasn't that big a deal. Price was a little cheaper than shogun as well. Great atmosphere, if you live in Columbus and like sushi, you gotta check this place out.
Always delicious food!! Has stayed in Columbus for a long time for a reason!! Filet, shrimp and sushi were all great!
This is my favorite restaurant. I have been here on several occasions the food is always immaculate. The staff is always super nice and the chef always puts on a great show. You get plenty of delicious food for the money. Mikata is the best Japanese steak house in the area.
The food is just so damn good I can't leave below a 4 star review. The waitress literally only brought us our drinks and we never saw her again. She didn't even take our drink order someone else did lmao. I ordered a sushi roll and never got it, although I wasn't charged for it and I was full as it was. Never got a refill. Cook was amazing.
Five out of five every time we come here. Best hibachi in Columbus. We go out of the way to come here! Food is fantastic, service is wonderful, and sushi is delicious. Highly highly recommend!
A group of us have been going here for years and we have never had a bad experience. It's everything that you would expect from a Japanese Steakhouse. The chefs are entertaining and amazing.
Good show, good food, and good people. My first time here and it was fun.
