This restaurant is a treat! The Afghan food is delicious and should appeal to every taste. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. Don't be shy about asking your questions regarding dishes that may be unfamiliar to you, or their ingredients. The atmosphere is beautiful, serene. Prices are very reasonable for food of this quality and complexity. We stumbled onto the place having never before experienced Afghan cuisine and have become regulars. Try the grilled chicken dinner, with rice, salad, and Afghan bread, just $11. It's a great meal that will bring you back for more. I recommend Zalla Afghan Grill unconditionally.

Great food, friendly service. I had the roasted eggplant in a tomato-yogurt sauce, the Afghan salad, and a dogh (yogurt drink) - all delicious. Great place for a post-Mount Diablo hike dinner.

This neighborhood surprise was a Valentines delight! I would I be recommend restaurant you're looking something different and flavorful. The service was prompt and pleasant, the food was amazing. Definitely 5 stars.
