This is a place to go for a really nice meal. While they have some entrées in the $12-$18 range, the real focus is on nicer dishes ranging from $20-$50. The food is excellent, and service is great. Full bar with a wide spirits, wine, and beer selection, including two Nueces brewery beers on tap. We had the Chicken Wings as an appetizer. The server mentioned they were spicy, but don't let that deter you - they were delicious and just barely spicy, like pickles for example. We had the Fish Tacos which were a bounty of flavor, and the Mahi Mahi over delicious Grits with a spicy (flavorful, not hot at all) sauce. They have many desserts that sound great, alas no room to try them. Will be back to try other menu items, and maybe save room for dessert!

Delicious all around. We had the Texas fondue which was a pleasant bbq and cheese mix, steak was perfectly cooked, lasagna was delicious, and the shrimp sautéed with Thai was the best! Totally would come back! Plus the service was was fun.

The food was outstanding, as was our server. The ambiance was great. So why not a five star? Well the bartender was yelling at a loud voice to the cooks and to the server. It was terribly distracting and a little unnerving. They could not accept credit cards the night we were there. So maybe a bad night, or just a bad bartender.

The family is in love with the crab cakes! I enjoyed the day's special of Fried Ribs. Another night we indulged in Escargot broiled in Garlic Butter and their Beef Lasagna made with Filet and Ribeye with White Sauce. Holy smokes! This isn't your typical beach bum menu. Although, whether you're in flip flops or loafers, the friendly staff will take great care of you. Your palate will be pleasantly pleased with the infused flavors the Chef is creating in the kitchen. Bon appetit!

Ate lunch here. I had the crusted fish and grilled shrimp with potato wedges. The grilled shrimp was heavenly however the fish didn't have much flavor and the potatoes were over cooked. My hubby had the Ahi tuna special which he absolutely loved. We shared the goat cheese ravioli as an appetizer and it was excellent. We will be back.

Dragon Fly used to be in our regular restaurant rotation on the Island. However, we hadn't been there in one to two years because they kept changing the menu whereby they removed food items we liked and added ones we didn't. As a periodic low carb dieter about the only thing I could order was filet mignon and when they removed this item, we stopped going. I am happy to say we gave them another chance! The menu is improved and filet mignon is back. I actually ordered the steak lasagna and it was delicious! The portion was large, which helped me "swallow" (pun intended) its somewhat expensive price, especially since it comes with no sides whatsoever; the portion was so large, I actually took half home and enjoyed it again. My wife didn't eat, but she enjoyed her custom fufu drinks from the bar. The waitress was nice and attentive. Overall, a great experience. Dragon Fly is back in our rotation! I went to Dragon Fly again this past week. I really enjoyed the Filet Mignon again! The fried puffy things were a mystery to me, but I think they were fried mash potatoes. I had a side salad with fresh garlic dressing; very tasty but strangely only included lettuce. Over all though a continued five star experience!

Wow ! A true gem. Food is five star- you DO NOT get this food often .. especially for price Average price is $8-12 per dish . Specialty fish sandwich on sourdough baguette, fish tacos , goat cheese raviolo, crab cake and salmon quesadillas. (The quesadillas were a little different. Peach with salmon and cheese. Fruity relish.. interesting on the pallet but good!) And the fish is HUGE.. one meal turned into two! The waiter was a plus as well.. A go to spot in future

Sadly, this wonderful spot is about to close after a long, successful run on South Pardre Island. Dominique is a chef who has more than proven himself over the years. This place will be sorely missed by many, me included. This time the four of us enjoyed our final meal by ordering appetizers, soup, entrees and desert. I won't bore you with details, but, as usual, everything was absolutely great. If you never have visited the Dragonfly, you should see if they're still open and pay them a visit.

I had shrimp skewers with a spicy sauce which was excellent. The creme brulee for dessert was delicious. The atmosphere was quiet which made for good conversation. We had no delay in getting seated. I would highly recommend it
