I’ve been to this restaurant before and I liked the food. This time I wasn’t just as fortunate bc I didn’t like my food! I ordered fried rice and was basically just rice, I had to look for the other ingredients on the bowl. On the other hand, my husband’s plate looked beautiful and delicious! The meet was very good. I guess it’s just a matter of choosing the right dish.
One of my favorite places in town. The food is great, service fast, and the atmosphere is nice for an afternoon or night out with family or friends. Visited countless times and never been disappointed. Their egg rolls are a must try.

Food was delicious and the place was clean. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town and love that there are pictures of the menu items for those that aren't familiar with that food.
Got there just in time today , it was 1 p.m. , so I thought the lunch crowd would be gone . They were for the 30 minutes we ate , so it was nice to get our food quick. I had a luxury bowl , it had fried rice , Chinese sausage, which is a little sweet with a nice snap to the slices . It was topped with beef short ribs , and they had just the right amount of fat to give the meat great flavor. It was also topped with a fried egg. It was a huge amount of food , so I took half home for another meal. The place is small and the tables are not great. Aluminum chairs , but it is all about the food , not the atmosphere here.
Awesome place, I ordered the beef short rib curry fried rice and was not disappointed.
Decent pricing, lots of food, I was very happy with the amount of beef rib that came with my order look at the picture I attached you'll see why.
One critique to give the fried rice is a bit too oily for me. I'm watching it sit in the bowl as the oil starts collecting at the bottom and sides.
I plan on coming back to try other items, highly recommended.
Pretty good stuff with good prices and nice sized portions. I could have stood a touch more flavor and spice in my tofu rice bowl. Other dishes a touch salty. But I'd go back.
Whatever you order, it will be incredibly delicious. I absolutely love the grilled pork fried rice with a fried egg. It's my go-to. But trust me, everything is amazing. Lots of flavor, employees are nice and they give you so much food. Well worth the price.
Never been disappointed any time I've eaten here. Bahn mi or fried rice are my usual orders. Dad's Mac is also really good as a side, almost reminds me of conchitas or some other kind of sopa. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the mood for excellent food at a great price.
My favorite hobby is to go around the city and sample new restaurants. I like to give my honest critique and review based on my palate and what I like. I only post reviews on restaurants that I like because I do not believe in publicly shaming a restaurant. However this is one of the best restaurants I’ve encountered within the past few months here in Corpus Christi. If I’m being brutally honest I’m going to have more negative experiences than bad experiences because serving food is not easy. Nevertheless Z counter makes it look easy has almost everything on that menu is tasty and fresh . It seems everything‘s cooked to order which lends its self to a pleasurable and palatable experience. I even like the vibe it has an “Old Austin” (before the Californians moved there) Feel and that’s great since this is Basically Asian St., Food. The Singapore noodles are my favorite and I crave them daily. If you’re looking for a new place to eat or if you’re coming to town as a tourist you have to put Z counter on your radar . What makes it even more amazing is that it’s surrounded by a couple of good Asian restaurants however I think there by far the best. Everything is clean, fresh and the customer service is great. I like that they put everything into go boxes because you almost have to take everything to go as they give you a lot of good food. Z counter is one of the true gems of Corpus Christi.
This place is small and has about 10 tables. They do a booming take out business, but I've never had an issue getting a place to sit. Today I got the Seol Bowl which was noodles, short ribs and an egg. My wife's favorite is the Dad's Mac and Cheese which is large enough that's her main meal, even though they advertise it as a side dish. I love their Kimchi Soup and quite frankly I've never disliked anything here, its all good.
