Had a great experience here. We liked it so much we came back the next night. They have a little of everything and it's all good, also reasonably priced.

Great sandwiches and chicken fried steak, the poorboy's bread is the secret ingredient! The "original poorboy" reminds me of a homemade grilled ham cheese sandwich. Awesome family resturant.
A superior place. One orders at the cashier and sits at a table. The tables are promptly cleaned after diners leave. I ordered a beef poorboy. It was served hot on a fresh, tender sesame bun with a side of beans and peppers, onions, and pickles that the diner can add to the poorboy if desired. The brisket was flavorful and moist; the beef sausage was tasty. The combination was mouth-watering. I chose a side of potato salad that was just average, but the sandwich made the meal a winner.
Great food, well worth the trip. Grilled Tillapia to perfection, with a salad and fresh "off the cob" corn, excellent meal and well prepared. Good atomophere, friendly staff. Good consistency ........always a treat and never a dissapointment with any meal ever! And, the fact one can eat a great meal, and stay on a heart healthy track....GREAT!
Revisited. Recent visit from Houston to Corpus Christi, my hometown (moved to Houston in 1983) was great and brother mentioned Nolans was open again after some hiatus. Took family over there and had to get one of their poorboys we used to inhale those in 1970s. Was same recipe, wife had CFS, kids were happy, just really good food all the way around at this location now off Airline. The old location we used to visit often was corner of Weber & SPID decades ago. I believe there was another location (or same one that moved?) to Gollihar & Weber. But the poorboys still rock after all these years, and while the food was great, the people were even better, friendly cook, and waitresses stopped by to see how we doing several times, will have to visit them again next time down in Corpus Christi!

The food is wonderful and super delicious the place is clean be careful when taking your order obviously we told them that we were going to be eating in. not eating out and they put our order as if we were taken it to go that was the only mistake we had

Had a very Good Friday night dinner with my husband after work wait staff was beyond nice kept checking if we needed anything else refills . Best taste in brisket overall very good experience dine in . Thank you keep up the good work .
Always a great meal at reasonable prices. Dining room clean and always plenty of staff on hand to meet high volume times of day, making your experience better all around. Any items they sell are made with fresh ingredients. Always a pleasure A+
Good experience overall. Some of our food was a little bland, but I really enjoyed the catfish sandwich. Also, the chocolate cake was delicious! I almost gave 5 stars for that alone.
This is one of those few places that take you back in time to those delicious home cooked country meals!
We are new to the area and had heard about this restaurant so decided to give it a try. As we pulled up you can see that it's an older location. We walked in and we place our order at the register. Their menu has several options with a kids menu as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Facility was very clean and open with comfortable seating. I tried their award winning chicken fried steak with okra and corn. My husband tried their ribeye sandwich, while our kids had fried shrimp. Their portions were a very good size and the food was delicious! Definitely will return to try more delicious items on their menu!

Our first time there. You order at the counter and help yourself to drinks and eating utensils. I had chicken tenders. Husband had club sandwich with fries. We also had chocolate cake and apple cobbler. Food was very good. Will go again when in the area.
Excellent food for all of us which included myself (the mother) and my son and granddaughter and my sister. Staff were very friendly did not rush us for our order and answered any questions we had. The ice machine needed to be refilled but they were very busy which was understandable. They did however refill it very quickly. The place was very clean and everyone was well organized. They made everyone feel as though they were special customers. I would definitely recommend this Nolans in Calallen.
The oyster poboy was really good but the brisket stole the show. The brisket had great flavor and was really juicy. The poboy bread was super freash and really good.The carrot cake was really good. The staff was very friendly and the place was really clean.
