My wife and I travel from Houston, to Corpus, quite often to watch the Astros Double A team - The Hooks. We normally stay at the La Quinta on 358 (So Padre Island Dr), about 5 minutes from Taqueria Almedia #2. The Breakfast Tacos are the BEST I've ever eaten and I'm old enough to have eaten a LOT of breakfast tacos.Home-made tortillas (wheat & corn) are amazing. We even bypass the complementary breakfast served at the La Quinta. The staff is just amazingly friendly. The only thing I must mention - If you are using Google search, to find your way there, input 6063 Holly Rd, Corpus Christi (the restaurant actually faces Holly and is about a half a block from Airline), instead of the address listed, 2033 Airline Rd J-12. We've also tried the original Taqueria Almedia and it has good food, but my wife and I like the #2 store, better.
Authentic lunch served promptly! Home-made chips, tortillas & large portions. They don't skimp on taco filling. Wow, Convenient Drive -Thru! Coming from North TX, feeling spoiled here in Corpus!!
Excellent breakfast. Eggs were very good as was the potatoes and refried beans. Service was great as well. One of my favorite Mexican breakfast places.
First time here... visiting from San Antonio and must say loved breakfast from fresh brewed coffee to my fresh homemade corn tortillas.. the ranchero sauce that came with my breakfast was delish and beans ...they weren't can beans.... only thing is I ordered a side of bacon cause it didnt come with My Huevos Rancheros... and they were not tasty they could have cooked a bit more.. but overall loved it.. oh and my husband said Barbacoa was dry.
Best tacos in town. Great and friendly service. food always hot. Fresh coffee this is my #1 spot.
