Char-Hut is a small chain of fast service restaurants owned by the Cammisa family who founded Char Hut in 1976. The family started the business over 40 years ago when they opened their first restaurant in Miami after moving to Florida from Buffalo. The family closed the Miami restaurant in favor of moving to southwest Broward. They specialize in hamburgers and chicken. Unlike other fast food places you can tell them how well you want your burger meat cooked and you can customize it with different toppings. The food is cooked to order.
This place is an institution and you can't hang around this long in the South Florida restaurant scene unless you offer quality food. I have eaten at Char-Hut many times through the years and if you go inside you come out smelling like the grill. It is a breeze to order from the drive though and that is what I usually do.
This was my first time visiting the Davie location which opened way back in 2003. You can find the restaurant along the side of State Rd. 84. I ordered the Char-Burger with cheese, which is the original 1/3 lb steak burger and I added a side of fries and a soda. The service was super friendly here and the food was great which I always expect from Char-Hut. It definitely satisfied my cheeseburger craving. I love that this is the kind of place where you don't have to beg for ketchup. They cheerfully offer it without you even having to ask. Count me among the Char-Hut fans.

Char Hut is a classic burger joint that has been serving up delicious burgers since 1976 when it first opened in Miami. I've been going since 1980 with my family! Today, the small chain boasts an impressive selection of fry options, including sweet potato, chili, and cheese fries. But the real star of the show are the onion rings, which are some of the best I've ever had.
When it comes to the burgers, Char Hut definitely delivers. They offer a variety of options, from classic cheeseburgers to more elaborate creations you can create with all the complimentary toppings. And the best part? They cook their burgers to the temperature you like, so you can get your patty cooked just the way you want it.
Everything at Char Hut is fresh and made to order, so you can be sure that you're getting a high-quality meal every time you visit. And the prices are reasonable, so you won't break the bank indulging in their delicious offerings. If you're looking for a classic burger joint with a great selection of fries and some seriously tasty onion rings, Char Hut is definitely worth checking out.
I liked dining at the Char-Hut! Outside, as pictured below has a neat clean look to it! Inside is just like a normal fast food joint but very clean, spacious and easy to move around in! Service was good, quick and not only took my order quickly but made it quickly to! The food, as pictured below was very good! The chicken tenders were nice and crispy, the fries were nice and plentiful and the burger was grade A good and well done to my liking, toppings and all! Give the Char Hut a try, it's a really good fast food joint worth the expense!
Char-Hut is always a great choice for grilled chicken or a great burger.
I’ve been gone there for years the service and food are great and the is always fresh.
I will definitely stop by again.

Food was pretty good. I liked the the char flavor on the burger. I ordered my burger medium and got it well. I also noticed a small difference in the way I was received. The ladies in front of me got a grilled chicken sandwich and when the order was finished they were asked if they wanted anything else. That wasn’t the case for me.
To add it was my initial visit here so I was looking at the menu before I can order on the opposite side of the register for when I was ready. The older man cooking told me there was a menu at the register to come over. No problem did that.
I ordered the salted caramel milkshake which was small and it was really good. Then the cowboy burger combo. On a Kaiser roll. Also they only do a American cheddar. With the combo I ordered Messy Fries. The person charged me for my combo plus the full price of the Messy fries and I only received messy fries. I guess there are no customizations. The cashier didn’t let me know that I couldn’t customize the meal either.
While I was waiting for my order a person came an ordered a strawberry milkshake and they asked if he would like whip! Wait hold up so I guess I’m not worthy of whip now.
Food was good vibes were bad. I don’t know if I would go back. It felt like there are race issues. The food was rated here not the service.
I have been visiting since 1980. Live in JAX since 2017, but saw it on my way to dunkin. Burger was as good as I remembered. Wish u had a diet, PA Dutch BB. Awesome
I eat here all the time but wanted to leave a review for this time specifically. The lovely young lady by the name of Damara (not sure if I’m spelling it correct) not only did she get a treat for my dog at the window but she was so pleasant and just went above and beyond what I expected. Keep it up char hut !!!
It’s nice to see a good honest burger cooked in front of your eyes.
Char-Hut has been a favorite burger spot since I was a kid. The burgers are always grilled fresh to order and the toppings are delicious. My favorite part of the meal is the super crisp and thin onion rings. This is not a quick stop burger place. Make sure you can have a seat and enjoy your meal. The prices for a burger and side combo is about the same as a sit down restaurant, and you get a fully customized and fresh burger and side. I recommend visiting to see if it becomes a go to burger spot for you.
The only place in Broward to get a tasty, quality burger.
