First time to eat there today. It was an awesome experience and the brunch was to die for. I got to meet the owner / chef, his passion for food and dining experience was off the charts. I would recommend Rustico to anyone, probably one of the best restaurants in Grayson County. It’s definitely worth the drive even if you are not close.

I like food. Food is what we do. We do food so well that we rarely go out to eat since we can make anything better than every restaurant we go to. Except this one. This is honestly the most wonderful place to eat. The food is amazing (I would honestly say with flavor and presentation alone, I would pay literally triple their asking price.) and extremely FRESH. You can taste the clean, crisp, deliciousness of food that hasn’t been frozen. The service is stellar. Everyone is extremely personable and the owner is one of those people that lives off making people happy. He’s humble, he’s kind, he aims to please and sees the community as his family and treats them as such. You can’t ask for a better place. Especially during happy hour.

Great food with a unique touch that complements your favorite Mexican dishes. The Carne Asada plate came with a side of rice fried with a surprisingly perfect blend of cilantro. The roasted jalapeno was sprinkled with queso fresco and a Pico salad that consisted of diced fresh tomatoes and pineapple. Yes, pineapple. A plesent surprise to an allredy very appealing dish. The side of pinto beans were cooked to perfection with pices of smoked bacon, onions and a hint of garlic. Finally the main event. The Carne Asada was roasted to a mild almost brisket like crust that gave way to a moist center you could cut with a fork. The next dish pictured is Chicken enchiladas. Smothered in a home made white cheese sauce and filled with shredded smoked chicken that got better with each mouth full. A side of Mexican rice and refried black beans made for a classic combination that screams comfort food. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. Great job!

Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday. I called a day before to make a reservation, but for some reason they didn't have it noted. There was a man at the front, he asked us to wait a few minutes while he figured it out. He managed to set a table up for us. He was very nice, respectful, and worked quickly. Our waitress had our drinks to us very quickly too. She made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We ordered a few appetizers, nachos and queso with beef and spinach. OMG...the nachos were great, but that queso was amazing!!! And the chips didn't just crumble when trying to eat, so I loved them too. We ordered many different dishes and they were all amazing as well!!! Will definitely be coming back here again!

Finally made it to Rustico after a lake weekend at Texoma. This is now tied for our favorite Mexican restaurant near Texoma, and wins our favorite dine-in Mexican spot. (Favorite to-go is Cielito Lindo). The food at Rustico is obviously made fresh with whole ingredients. You can taste the difference. Our table tried chicken queso enchiladas (yum), tortilla soup (one of the best I’ve ever had), and steak fajitas (so good). We also tried the mambo taxi (exactly as expected), sangria & Bloody Mary. The chips were warm & fresh, salsa was GREAT. And somehow they were able to provide amazing service even though they were short staffed. Just be patient, it’s worth the wait. Highly recommend.

We visited Rustico for the second time on Friday, June 24,2022. Excellent food choices. The Chicken Cancun was the star of the show with the rum and pecan sauce with plantains and seasoned vegetables. Really great atmosphere. 5 stars to the chef. The only negative part was the restaurants temperature appeared to be the same as the outside temperature which was close to 98F and frequent visits from pesky flies which took away from the dining experience. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive but there seemed to be a language barrier, the five of us got our meals but they were not what we ordered from the menus which were minor hiccups (Spanish rice served when Poblano Rice was on menu) and with the humid temperature of the restaurant the tea and water glasses stayed empty, we had to ask numerous times for refills on all the beverages and for additional ice as the empty glasses of ice melted quickly. The above were minor issues that the Excellent food and great atmosphere more than made up for. The Mexican food at this place is the best in Denison just make sure the person taking your order understands what you are ordering.

The food was great, the amount of food for the price was very reasonable, our waitress never let my tea glass become empty, they're definitely on top of their game, I had the chicken fajita, it was sooooo good.

We visited Rustico 9/10/2021 and had a very unique and memorable experience. We sat at the bar for a great fajita dinner along with some beer and tasty margaritas. We enjoyed chatting with bartender Amber about a variety of topics including the Fireball mini-fridge we noticed behind the bar. We told her the story of the Italian matriarch in our family who just turned 85 years old and loves Fireball shots! She brought over the owner Felipe so we could tell him the story and we struck a deal on the spot to take the Fireball fridge home with us! It was unveiled at an October birthday party and was the toast of the party! We will definitely be back to Rustico to enjoy Felipe's food and gracious staff!

We were fortunate that Chef waited on us for our first visit It was a pleasure talking about why he loves this. I will say this is by far one of my favorite meals I've ever had - honestly. I enjoyed every bite. The meal was so flavorful! I chose the lobster and shrimp chile relleno. Perfectly plated over poblano rice, the smoky flavor blended subtly. I loved the smoky tomato sauce for the lobster and shrimp, and the pepper was perfectly breaded. He chose the 2 enchiladas and enjoyed the chicken . I sampled his refried beans and they were so smooth and full of flavor.

We always love their food! This particular time I had the chicken fajitas which were excellent! Usually I get the pollo con queso. This is definitely in my top two favorite places to eat in Grayson county!
