This place hands down is off the charts! The atmosphere is on point! We had fried pickles and alligator tail for appetizer. Yum! Portion size and taste were perfect for the three of us. Dinner, I ordered the Marci gras pasta! Literally the best I have eaten. Bow tie pasta with shrimp and sausage! Yum! We also tried the chicken fried steak, the blackened chicken and red beans and rice. Everything perfect! I’m not clear on the waitress’ name but she was awesome too! I’m from Cali and really wish we had this exact place here! I have already talked about it several times since being back only a day or so! A def must stop everytime we come to Denton to see my cousin! Keep doing it right, Frilly’s!
I'm never disappointed when I come here. I honestly don't think I have had a dish that I didn't like. Last night I wanted to try something different. Our the waitress recommended the Pasta Mardi Gras and oh my goodness it was amazing! This place is a family favorite that's for sure.
We got the blackened mahi mahi Alexander and split it between two people and it was great. Very well prepared and a good portion for two people. Our son got the jumbo shrimp bruchette and it was also very good. We read some review before coming and it mentioned something about the bathrooms and they are new and very clean and the food was very flavorful.
Our first time here was such a great experience. The food: Cornbread, Beans & Rice App, Jambalaya, and Trio Shrimp is recommended. Music created a fun atmosphere (Joe Tucker) but above all was our waitress, Rachel, she was awesome! Fast service and very welcoming! Thanks Rachel!

Best Seafood in Denton. I love this place! There menu may seem small to some, but it is just enough to fill your craving for seafood. (Really the menu is not small though). I have been coming here for 8 years and when I first started going it looked like a straight up whole in the wall, over the years the owner has made some very nice upgrades to the place! The food where to start? Ok, appetizers- my favorite is going to be fried zucchini, fried pickles, and the swamp fries. The swamp fries are the best creation of fries I have ever had, simply amazing. Entrees- my go to are; shrimp etouffee, blackened grouper with zydeco sauce, fish tacos, large fried shrimp. As for soups they have the best clam chowder I have had in many years! Don't waste your time going to Dani Rays or Red Lobster that would be an utter shame when we have a hidden gold mine with Frilly's. The service is great, shout out to Ms. Rachel who has been their forever and is absolutely amazing! An overall wonderful experience and great food everytime!
Good...will go back for sure.. My husband and I were passing through Denton on our way back to Oklahoma. We stopped at Frilly's based on the parking lot was full. My husband loved the appetizer Crab cakes! We enjoyed everything we ordered and the service was good. We recommend this restaurant and will go back when we are in the area.
My husband and i love frillys (the original)! The jumbalaya is our favorite. I've never had anything I didn't like. I also LOVE the fried zucchini.
Great Place to Eat!!!. It is pretty obvious that the haters that are pushing Frilly's South (now some other name) are from there and just touting their restaurant. I have been here at least a dozen times and the service and food was great and overall the place was nice. Yes the restroom is small but come on it wasn't 'stopped up the 3 times you were there.' I have taken friends many times that live on Texas' coast and they say the food is as good as they get at home. I eat out a minimum 6 days a week so I know a little about food and good/bad service. Also this is my wife's favorite place to get a salad because the lettuce is either a spring mix or romaine and not iceberg.
I LOVE their food! Have eaten there many times - never disappointed. Don't understand the negative reviews. Try it yourself!
The chicken fried steak with Cajun gravy is awesome! Also, awesome fried pickles! Great atmosphere! Live music! Loved it!!
This place is amazing. I love the white wine cream sauce they have to go over tilapia. this place reminds me of pappadeaux :D
I absolutely love the crawfish!! It's a great atmosphere and reasonable prices for what they offer. The jumbalaya is also excellent. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than fifteen minutes for food. The waitresses are really nice as well.
What a FIND! The food was outstanding - flavor packed & great price. The service was excellent thanks to, Emma . She was super sweet & personable. Also, the man playing the music was a whole one man show, absolutely killed it with the harmonica. Haven’t had an experience like this in a long time! Thank you
Quaint live music made it feel so much like home. Loved the atmosphere. Wish they had more than wine drinks but the wine based margarita was still pretty authentic flavored. Menu was outstanding! Food was on point! Gator tails and blackened grouper...yum!
Great place! We just left happy and satisfied. You can count on delicious food with friendly service. We were here 3 years (traveling) and made it a point to come back. Crispy calamari, shrimp, French fries, and catfish for hubby. Spicy ettuoffee for me. Family friendly. Assortment of beer and wine. Didn't order off the lunch menu which was very reasonable.
What a great gem! It was my first time visiting Denton and Frilly's was close to my hotel. Walked in and the atmosphere was welcoming. Our server was Alysa and she was so sweet and attentive. We were able to meet Alonzo the owner and he was very friendly and even gave us the story of how he got started. I can't wait until he brings Frilly's to Houston. The food was fresh and hot. I definitely recommend the fondue and the bread pudding.
Great food, Great Service!! This seafood restaurant is a gem in Denton that we almost missed out on!! This will be on out eating out list every time we visit from now on!!! 😋😁❤
