I’m a BIG fan of the Corktown Area in Detroit. This was my first time at Cork & Gabel and I’m mad that I waited this long. Scanning over what they were serving I loved how the menu was a play on food with and Irish/German edge (was fitting for the area). I loved the Benny and Omelette section as I’m a savory girl myself.
We walked in and it was going to be a 45 minute wait BECAUSE it’s popular. We sat at the bar right away instead of a table and had great service and a few laughs with the bartenders. Will definitely be back for brunch and would love to swing by for dinner someday to check it out.
A bit pricey but wonderful food and service. Save the eating for a nice night out, a date night maybe. The drinks are priced normally, cocktails were 11+ and a tall Guinness was $7, well poured. This is definitely a photo worthy venue that knows what it is about...even though my photos aren't the best! I'll be back.
A very unique and cool looking place. Our waiter was great. Watching the staff throughout and all energetic and appeared to be enjoying what they do. The arrived fast and the order was accurate but flavor was just average. Presentation was there but our party of 7 all felt it was not the exciting flavors we had hoped for. It won’t stop us from returning if we are in the area but probably won’t be making a special trip.
