Being one of the pioneers to invest in downtown Durham, Dos Perros is a fantastic asset to the Downtown Durham restaurant scene! Love your fried oyster anything. The guacamole is to die for! If fried oysters are not available get the pescado anything. Usually I would get grouper burrito or platter! Great food, great service, great friends who treat me like family! Oh yeah, I forgot the pizzoli! It's a must get when on the menu!!! Don't forget the $5 margaritas on Sundays and Mondays! They also have a beautiful room on the lower level for your special events whatever they may be! Love you guys!
We had Dos Perros cater rehearsal dinner and welcoming reception this past weekend. I could not have been more pleased with the wonderful food, and attention to detail provided by Mary Baird and Chef Michael for these events. They took care of every detail during the evening, allowing us to enjoy ourselves without a single concern.
The food served at the rehearsal dinner, starting with guacamole, gorditas, and ensalata verde, followed by a choice of Roasted chicken – topped with traditional mole poblano, Grilled Hanger Steak – with chimichurri or Chile Relleno – vegetable & cheese stuffed poblano pepper and Oaxacan crema was plated beautifully, and absolutely delicious.
The special menu created for the Welcome Reception included
guacamole and salsa verde, cucumber canape with crab bacon salad,
cochinita pibil tostones with pickled red onions, and roasted oyster mushroom “ceviche” tostada. Our guests could not say enough about the variety and flavor of all the fredsh food served!

First time. Concert at DPAC. 6:30ish on Saturday night but had a 3 minute wait. Terrific food, fun drinks, terrific staff, happening joint, yet cool sophistication prevailed. For myself, at 64, such pleasure to experience an atmosphere I haven't in 20 years. 20-30+ plus older than the crowd but staff treated me as equal/contemporary. I know it sounds trite to say, this was a great relief and pleasure to be treated as "belonging". Much to my chagrin as an aging DC native, many young sophisticates joints tend to make me feel out of place and not welcome any more, simply b/c I've aged. Here I felt a part of a crowd I not so long ago engaged with regularly. Thank for giving me that back. Terrific place.
