Viceroy Durham

Just got back from an exceptional after-work dinner at Viceroy. Beautiful decor and seeing Willie behind the bar and Chef Adam Barron and his team at the pass was definitely a reassuring and warm welcome, even at 10pm when we popped in. The place was buzzin' and the bar was packed, but we were seated right away and Tara and the front of house team took great care of us! We got the fried cauliflower and chickpea fritters to start on Jay's recommendation (he built the place, he would know!) and an order of garlic naan with raiita ($3 add on for the raiita, but waaay worth it!). For entrees, we went with the curried Shepherd's Pie and the oxtail and root vegetable pastie. Both were destination worthy and if you saved a bit of garlic naan to help finish scooping the Shepherd's Pie with, you get a gold star for being a player in the game of life and NOT a spectator. :) If you plan on checking this place out and wanna start out small and go from there, I recommend a couple of drinks, an order of garlic naan with raiita, fried cauliflower, and Shepherd's Pie (all to share) then ask your server or Chef Adam for a recommendation to accommodate any extra room you have to explore a few more bites, cuz this menu is a PROPER one sided page of "win", across the board. Look forward to coming back next week and trying the scotch egg, kebobs, and lamb lollipops!! Great job, team!!
